Probably my steel wishbone backplate because traveling with a full-size steel plate really isn't an issue. Plus, I am on the list for a Freedom Plate.

There really isn't any need to buy new gear, especially for something like a backplate. You can buy used right here on this forum and piece together something better suited for you than something off the shelf and save you some cash.

Just keep in mind that a new BC isn't going to increase bottom time, so if your current BC is doing everything you want and doesn't have any annoyances, getting a new BC isn't going to help you any. It will just be a fun new toy. Which I can totally relate to. :)

If the flights are full and the prices are high, I would figure another airline would want in on the action, and that would drop the price a bit.
