    Belize for new Junior Divers???

I have visited Ambergeris Caye and found that the divemasters will work with you as far as your diving preference. As far as lodging I stayed and would recommend a condo type setting where you have the option of maiking your own meals. I have used the folks at the following link and have found...

Open water course recommendation - San Francisco

Wallin's Dive Shop in San Carlos (a few minutes south of the city) comes with very good reviews. I certified with them 10+ years ago and completed a pool refresher earlier this year. The dive gear is usually priced below MSRP and they will meet ScubaPro's online prices. You can google them and...

Single Divers looking for Cozumel Invasion roommates

If I am reading the costs correctly Wiz, a room by yourself will run you $1025 and if shared $850 each; so will save $175 by having a roommate.

    Monastery

Chad, IMO this is one of the easiest beach exits. Just catch a breaker which will spit you out onto the beach, crawl a few steps, ditch your weights and fins and walk to your beach chair. The beach is steep so you will only need to crawl the first 15-20 feet.

Creating rock salt in a BC

Off topic but you bring up a good point Todd; I will pack my dive log on top of my BC/Reg when traveling by air (less chance of TSA/Customs ripping my BC to shreds). Everybody knows grandmas, young kids and divers are prone to be terrorists :crafty:

    Scubaboard Invades Cozumel

Only $1025 single occupancy is a real great deal. I am doing Belize in March (for more like $1750 single occupancy lodging and diving only!); I plan on taking this trip in June. It will be April till I can send in the deposit; hopefully there will be a space available then (or I can grab a...

    Monastery

Most concern at North Monastery IMO: Seductive is The Deep. Once you hit the boulders there is this certain itch to go further and explore! I dove it once as a solo diver; great experience. Once with a buddy who ran OUT at 35 ft; this still was a great dive experience thanks to a 100 HP tank :D...

    Oiy my ears!

I had that; well sort of it was more like a dull pain; went to the MD and he cleaned out a ton of wax and stuff from my ears -that fixed the issue.

Is finding a used HP100 basically impossible?

OMG I wish I saw your post earlier; I just gave away my HP100 but 2 hours ago! And we are in the same area! Anyway Wallin Dive in San Carlos might put it up for sale; it has DIN threading. You might want to give them a call (they do carry a selection of used tanks but I didn't see a HP100)...

    Fun things Newbies do

On my first night dive in The Keys the Divemaster did that - those were the 80's and I think there was "shades of Miami Vice" stuff goin' on.:shocked2: I submerged on snorkel :dork2: but made the switch a couple of feet under (it was a great recovery :crafty:).

    Scubaboard Invades Cozumel

I am very interested in doing this trip. The "singles" supplement seems very reasonable. Can anyone recommend a trip insurance company/link and tell me more why I should purchase it? Thanks in advance.

    Dive Business in Florida Keys?

Intro: Name's Jim My 2 cents (where's the 2 cent smiley?).. I just got from (just) 4 dives with Ocean Divers in Key Largo. I was treated great and they fixed an issue I was having with my DIN -> Yoke converter no charge. $75 for reef and $90 for the wreck dives. Great captain (Lou) and mates...
