    Need help with sea sickness

:bounce: Yay, another NC Wreck Diver is minted! Congratulations. Where did you dive? If it is any consolation to you, you are not alone. People who brag about not ever being seasick here are mostly lying. Even most of the captains take Bonine. The issue is not only the waves/waves...

    Sharkfest 2011 Morehead city

I'm looking into joining in on the topside activities. Cuz I love sharks. Olympus is great, but I prefer the smaller boats/6 packs for diving. I'm down there most weekends in the summer, so depending on the forecast, I may or may not go diving that weekend.

    Lobster with white claws??

Fishy? :rofl3: I'm sorry, your response was on topic, and well informed. I'll just skulk away and go have another glass of Pinot Noir.

    I can't be "liked" apparently

I thought it was because a user couldn't like their own post. But Dandy Don pointed out that there was no icon on my posts? I'll live either way.

Could scuba diving be bad for people with high blood-pressure?

A small study in atypical populations does not a meaningful conclusion make. It is premature to say anything one way or the other about the nitrox study mentioned here. It will take a far larger and more representative study before the question is even firmly established. Then whatever is...

hyper active thyroid / graves disease

I know you probably feel pretty rotten right now, but to echo previous comments, this is not the end of the world, you will be feeling like a champ soon, and once things are squared away you will be diving again. I'd also recommend that once your thyroid levels are stable and you are back to...

Using a Glock to discourage sharks?

I sent someone some Sand Tiger Teeth and suggested that he plant a few of them in the local quarry out in the flatlands. Would be interesting to see who pulls out their Glocks when they find them.

hyper active thyroid / graves disease

Hi Aaron, glad you found the right care and are on the right path to feeling better. I am really happy that you are going to follow your doctor's advice and avoid diving until he clears you. You had me worried there for a bit. I just wanted to add a comment in general which is not...

Using a Glock to discourage sharks?

I thought it was a joke. What a ridiculous waste of my tax dollars. Good luck hitting center mass on an advancing shark. Sharks are scared of us. Should one ever be aggressive to a diver, I think they would be better off hitting the shark on the snout with the wrong end of their Glock...

Using a Glock to discourage sharks?

Me thinks the flatlander OP is pulling our collective fins. I did not find this on the Glock website.

    Diving after lobectomy?

What he said. Please be very very careful about returning to diving. It make take some time to determine whether or not you are at risk for air trapping or not. It would not be pretty if you discovered this on ascent.

    Choosing a shorty?

Get a full suit. Preferably a 3mm, though you can get a 1.5 or a skin if you wish. Even in a 3mm, you can get cold by your 2nd or 3rd dive even in warmer water. I'm a believer in always wearing a full covering. Google Vibrio.

    Shore Dive Morehead City

It's just not shore diving territory. Lots of worthy shore dives in the OBX, but not Morehead/Beaufort. Just wanted to throw out a few things in the event that they are of interest... Visit to the NC Maritime Museum. You can see some Blackbeard's booty there. There are also the Wild...

    Diving May Damage Blood Vessels

You talk a lot of smack for a team which bit it so early in the NCAA tourney pal. And we are getting our secret weapon back. :D How the heck did you connect my screenname to my real one? That's spooky.

    Shore Dive Morehead City

You know, personally, I'd prefer to enjoy some of the topside activities if it were me. I'm afraid that after your boat dives, Radio Island may not quite roll your boots up and down. I vaguely remember there being a bridge somewhere around there that some enjoy diving, if I can find it for you...

    Diving May Damage Blood Vessels

Wow, A Duke person and a UNC person agreeing on something. It happens on occasion. Now I am going to wonder which one of those hyperbaric folks you are :) GO HEELS. Mods...when you merge threads, can you indicate that you have done so?...makes for a better read if people understand why...
