Question Do you prefer someone help you set up your gear, or do you prefer setting up by yourself?

I think this is very true in this case... just like use of the Long hose, and BP/W. These things are somewhat common where we dive locally (Great Lakes) but we hardly ever see it when we travel south. People are often confused when they see our rigs...

Question Do you prefer someone help you set up your gear, or do you prefer setting up by yourself?

Great Lakes divers here. Like Marie said.... we do it ourselves up here. The boats are basically water taxis. I like it that way...

Question How many times can I fill a steel 72 off a pair of 130s?

this is exactly what we do. we bring along a couple nicely filled single 100s, and top up our doubles if we're doing a third shallow dive in the afternoon.

Ever dove with a UV light?

we did a fluorescent night dive @ Sunscapes in Curaçao for my wife's birthday. They supplied the UV lights and the yellow filter to go over your mask... it was a pretty cool experience.

Do you wear a dive watch? (not computer)

I like dive watches, and wear them often.... but never to dive. My fraternal twins... Ecozillas, in titanium and stainless steel. I'm a fan of the caseback design.

2 Sets of Halcyon ACB at once?

they're a pretty good "replica". They're slightly different material, but still good. We use them on our travel rigs, and they've been exactly the same in use. I did have to fabricate the plastic stiffeners that the Halcyon pockets come with, but that was fairly straightforward.... and the...

Diving with limestone-based neoprene wetsuit. Anyone?

I needed a couple extra lbs with a new 3mm greenprene, compared to my 3mm thermaxx, but the older suit is midway through it's life. New to New.....probably not much different in terms of buoyancy.

    Rock boots

I generally wear a 9 in a regular shoe, and went up 2 sizes to an 11 wide, for use with my Nova w/ neoprene socks, a couple pairs of merino socks, and the stirrup portion of the Seaskin undergarments. They fit with the insoles in, although they can be removed to gain a little space if needed...

    Drysuit Recommendations

All brick and mortar dive shops are going to hate on Seaskin....because they made no money and lost a sale. They make $$$$ when you spend thousands of dollars on a drysuit. The same way they hate on dgx and deep 6 gear. If they don't sell it, it's crappy....lol. We've got 2 Novas with ~100...

BPW recommendations - Uniquely sized diver

I bought the carbon plates first as we were taking a tropical trip shortly after. We were in jacket bcds first though. The steel plate came almost immediately after getting home from that trip, as we dive much more locally (great lakes) than away, and our season was starting. My decision, if...

    Complaint about recent diving experience.

I'm surprised they let you dive, not having been in the water in 5 years, and her never having dived before. I'd have thought they'd have been horny horny to sell you a $$$ refresher course and a $$$ DSD... with supervision. I'm also surprised you still did the dive, if you were at all leary...

BPW recommendations - Uniquely sized diver

I like having multiple plates, and wings. I use a carbon plate and dgx 30lb wing for travel, and a steel plate with a halcyon 40lb wing for local Coldwater diving. Steel plate and 40 lb wing for doubles (100hp) at home as well. 3 setups total. edit.... the harness is set for my regular...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

it doesn't look as huge as you think it does. I'd bet it dives just fine, and you won't notice anything weird. You could always bulk up a bit with some bioprene....🤪

Wet suit fit for the short and plump ladies

Mia (the owner) is a friend of ours, a really great person, and she's a legit cold water diver. We have lady friends that really love her wetsuits. I think she could probably help you out...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

an update regarding shipping dates.... my wife had a proposed shipping date of February 16th, and received her email today. I submitted the order for my suit a few hours later, so I'm assuming I should be getting an email tomorrow. My proposed date was also the 16th. Seems pretty consistent...
