Which ops do daily boat diving these days?

I'll also give a Andy a real big thumbs up. My wife and I went out with him ( through Scubaçao) to boat dive the west end for a day. Was a fun day of Great diving...

BC Service availability while on vacation

the odds you'll get any significant repair done to any scuba gear while on vacation, unless it's rather extended, is basically zero. With the exception of some very generic parts, you might struggle to find a shop that both services the brand of gear you have, and also has the required parts in...

    Recommendation needed for daughter

get the dgx package. we put our niece in one (when she was 12) and it worked out great. We even went with steel to lose some lead. She loves it. Some of the other brands have a little nicer fit and finish so more money, but the DGX is totally adequate.

Question Do you bring tools with you on dives?

define tools..... a line cutter, knife, light, dsmb, etc... are all tools. If you're talking about "tools" as in wrenches, hammers, etc... then I don't think the majority of divers are taking them underwater. I carry an adjustable wrench, hex keys, a pick and o-rings on the boat, but not...

Is the Deep cert really necessary?

my wife and I dive doubles (hp100s) recreationally because our local diving is deepish, and quite cold. It's not about gas consumption, it's about free flows, redundancy, etc...

Where to learn inspecting tanks in europe?

I was offered the opportunity to do my PSI PCI course by being friendly with my local dive shop owner. She knows I do my own reg service, etc... and thought I might enjoy doing the course along with some employees doing their refreshers. Reach out to some shops and see where you end up...

Getting replacement BP/W webbing in Europe

Helium makes yellow webbing, and the stiffness is a nice balance.

Is the Deep cert really necessary?

If I couldn't go below 100' I'd miss out on the best parts of my favorite wreck around here....the Forest City. Here's some pics while testing the xtar DL1 laser. Bottom times are admittedly shortish, but the sloping wreck allows you to work your way back up to fart around in the shallows...

    Webbing in Cool Colors

We have 7 bpw rigs, and they all have either Halcyon or Helium webbing. I like the stiffness level they provide, and find the markings helpful in d-ring placement.

    Seaskin boot recommendations?

Getting new drysuit fins was always part of the equation for us. We knew we'd need considerably larger fins when going dry. Went with Jetfins due to them being quite negative, and popular with other divers here.

    Seaskin boot recommendations?

Altama's are quite popular. My wife and I use them for our Novas. We went up 2 sizes from our regular street shoe size, and chose the wide option. I liked them so much, I bought a smaller pair and some thin neoprene socks to wear while diving wet. *edit I'm referring to the Altama Maritime...
