    Daydreaming of Curacao

I saw mention of this posted on a Curaçao expat Facebook page, but no details of the actual incident.

Looking for open water instruction for kids

I've been to Curaçao a bunch of times, and we're returning again in March. We been out with Ocean Encounters, Scubaçao, and Scuba-do. They've all been really good, but we especially like the staff @ Ocean Encounters. Curaçao is pretty much the easiest diving location going, with (usually)...

Is Sunscape comparable to Iberostar Cozumel?

my wife and I have been Sunscape 3 times in the last 3 years, and we're returning again in March. The resort is OK, but a bit dated. The food is OK, but not superb, but we have yet to starve. We really like diving with Ocean Encounters, love their staff, and the house reef is fantastic. The...

    Backkick with Jetfins

the extra weight of the manifold, extra reg, etc... could be causing your trim to be slightly head down. You might be back kicking just fine, but the angled trim is causing you to rise as you reverse. have someone take a photo of your position in the water....

Can you wear jacket under drysuit?

I'm aware of the difference. I've been in 35°F water before. I was simply stating that apparently some people will wear anything under their drysuit, even things like.blue jeans, that you wouldn't expect to see ...

Can you wear jacket under drysuit?

I was on a charter in Tobermory once, and watched a guy remove his neoprene drysuit, to reveal a pair of blue jeans and a sweatshirt. This dive was in 45°F water, and well below 100ffw. I was surprised to say the least...but I guess you can really wear whatever you like under a drysuit...

Question Does anyone use Atomic Z3's in there rental fleet?

we don't have a dive center, but my wife and I have a "fleet" of Atomic regs. Between us, we have 8 first stages, and 12 second stages. They're a mix of z2, b2, m1.... all DIN, all sealed. We dive predominently cold water (Great Lakes) and have never had an issue related to freezing. Hour...

    Iberostar & Dressel Divers

another vote for curaçao. we're heading back for the 4th time in 3 yrs this March. The diving is great, and easy. We do a couple boat dives in the am, and then an afternoon and an evening/night dive from shore.

    Transfill Whip Adapter help

spin the gauge out, and spin in the new digital gauge... having a hard time seeing the problem here. It doesn't matter how the other piece is connected.....

    Curacao Marriott and diving questions

I've been on 3 week long dive trips with OE, and have never had 25-30 on a boat. Usually it's been 16-18 or less, and their boats are quite a bit larger than other OPs.They also have multiple guides, and split into 2 groups when there's a lot of divers. We've used smaller OPs, and only had 4-6...

    Where to stay in Curacao?

we stay @ sunscape when in Curaçao. The resort is just ok, the food is just OK, but the house reef is great, Ocean Encounters is a solid dive op, and the location is close to Mambo Beach. we've been 3 times in the last few years, and haven't really had any issues. It's also pretty hard to...

Question Recommendation for a tailor for getting drysuit measurements in LA

we (my wife and i) have ordered 2 seaskin novas each, using measurements we have taken of each other. The fit has been great on all 4. Just follow all the directions/watch the video, and maybe take a couple sets of measurements over a couple days, and compare the two before committing.

All-Good Chinese Aluminum 80 cf vs Catalina USA 80 cf

for $50 difference each, I wouldn't. They'd have to be essentially free to entertain the idea, and even then, I wouldn't.

    Sharing dive computer

I don't see a problem IF you can reset the computer at the end of the day's diving. Skipping a day between dive days means you'll have off gassed completely, and will be starting from scratch. Think of it as if you were renting a computer for the day... you don't know what profiles the...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

that makes a lot more sense now... I just assumed you were diving. Snorkeling in a drysuit didn't occur to me... at all.

Unknown Any additional info. Brockville Centeen Park

My wife and I were both very surprised and saddened to hear about this incident. We didn't really know him personally, but often saw him around the Niagara area, and enjoyed the frequent posting of videos and such. He will be greatly missed as a very active local diver.

    Dry Gloves

I usually just pull the thumb loop from my thermals out through the wrist seal (it's not looped over my thumb @ that point) to allow the movement of air between the suit and the dryglove, but recently had one slip back into the suit while having to really reach up and forward during a dive. The...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

something is definitely wrong if you're only 166 lbs and you're needing that much lead while being "shrinkwrapped" as you say. I know it's said that you "need what you need" but something is up here. For refence, with the 250s, and an additional merino layer, I use around 18lbs of lead with a...

    Hydro / Tumble Damage?

name and shame this crap 💩 operation. If that was pre-existing, it should never have gone to hydro, tumble, etc... It should have been mentioned before anything occurred.
