Kubi or Ultima twist for new drysuit.

my wife and i have Kubis on our 4 Seaskin Novas. They've been nothing but excellent. Easy to use, no indexing required, and never had any issues. The suit side with sitech silicone wrist seals, and the glove side (using Showa 720s) have both been flawless. I have no experience with any...

    BPW for 10 yo

I don't have children, but I do know how fast they sometimes grow at that age. If he's 4'8" now, he'll probably be 5'2" in about 17 minutes. My wife is about 5'2" and uses regular length backplates from Halcyon (carbon fiber and steel) and DGX (steel). Have him try on one of your BPW and see...

What the hell did I just buy?

so......it lives. I spent a bit of time cleaning up the unit, tightening up some nuts and bolts, changed the broken gauge and checked the oil levels. Everything seemed in working order, so I plugged it in and closed the valves. Pressure builds slowly, but it kept rising. The electric 1/3 hp...

What the hell did I just buy?

So I stumbled upon this old scuba compressor.... Knowing nothing else except it was old, and seemed to run ok when plugged in for a couple seconds, I bit and took a gamble. All in, I've got about $70 usd into it, and it was 15 minutes from home.... Made by Cornelius, and has a newer 115v...

Trip Report Diving in Costa Rica - Playas del Coco - with Summer Salt Dive Shop

We dove "Bats and Cats", as they say, last August. It was quite the experience with so many bull sharks around. We also other sharks, dolphins, rays, and the highlight was a family of humpback whales. The mom, dad, and baby all came within about 30' of us, and it was spectacular. Well worth...

XDeep Backplate and Different Doubles Wing

I regularly drysuit dive doubles of steel Faber hp100s with a steel plate. I found adding a couple lbs of lead, threaded onto the rear of my crotch strap (right below the plate, tight against the rear d-ring), along with jetfins, took care of the head down trim I was feeling. Costs basically...

    Best Caribbean location for Diving

we've been diving with Sandals, at their South Coast Jamaica, Barbados, and Grenada locations. I enjoyed the diving in Grenada the most of the three we've visited. With that said, Curaçao has become our regular Caribbean go-to...although not with Sandals.

    Curacao or stay with Bonaire?

we've stayed for a total of 4 weeks, over 4 trips. we always do the morning 2 tank boat charter, have lunch, do an afternoon shore dive, relax and have dinner, do an evening or night shore dive. Rinse and repeat. There is a gear room to store your stuff, and you get a key, if you're wanting...

    Curacao or stay with Bonaire?

we always stay at Sunscape (5 minute walk west, and an Ocean Encounters satellite location) as we vastly prefer the shore dive setup there, as opposed to over @ Lion's dive. We carry tanks 20 ft, gear up on the dock, walk 3ft, and giant stride. Couldn't be easier. Also, since Ocean...
