    Another noob Asthma question :)

You can dive with asthma but you definitely need to be cleared by a doc that is familiar with dive medicine, and I believe it depends on the frequency, severity and what triggers it. Call DAN they can answer your questions and you don't even have to be a member. There's a member here Duke Dive...

Nervous? Scared? Uncertain? Tell your Instructor BEFORE things go wrong.

Ive had some near drowning experiences, but they were all 'self induced' (so to speak) all while surfing big waves and getting held down. Never any situation I didn't put myself in. Always been comfortable in the water. So I can't say for sure, but I would think telling your dive instructor...

New to diving, have some questions regarding stability and BCs.

I would go ahead with the used gear, if its only been used a couple times it should be good. As far as trim, like dumpsterdiver said, adjust the weights. Maybe try a weight belt. That will allow you to move them to the front (towards the forward portion of your hips) or back (either side of...

    Thank you Dive Alert !

+1 on buddy procedures. I cut a tank banger off a tank recently. Everything dude saw, he was banging on it. You could hear that thing for days and after 3 dives I couldn't stand it.

Should Padi OW be called Resort Diver?

Its all about the instructors interpretation/perception of skills mastery. If all the skills and knowledge are in fact mastered, the OW diver should have no problem diving on his/her own without aid.

Cave Dives - Ginnie Springs FL

Awesome videos. I was there 05 May and dove it. No penetration (no training) but the all 4 springs are awesome dives. I think its devil's spring, the one closest to the river, has some insane amounts of water flow coming out of it. Really cool place.

    campgrounds for divers

There's no campground at radio island and one or two dives you've seen it all. I've dove it more times than I can remember, we take students out there. Fun dive, quite a few tropicals in summer, really cool night dive, but if I was on a diving vaca it would be a dive I would do if the charter...

Shark Attacks Diver (hose) On Spiegel Grove

Nice video. I guess I could have expanded on the types of sharks that frequent the wrecks up here. Its mostly sand tigers and sand bar sharks. And its only been the sand tigers I've seen inside the wrecks. Sandys aren't exactly free swimmers, I'm pretty sure they find structure and hang out on it.

Shark Attacks Diver (hose) On Spiegel Grove

Here in NC, if there are sharks on a wreck, its not uncommon for them to be inside it as well. So long as there is some surge or current.

Main Players in Manufacturing of Spearfishing Equipment (Spearguns)

Yea, riffe are top notch guns, high quality, built to last, but you're paying for it. AB Biller is, IMO, almost on par with riffe. JBL is great quality at an affordable price.

Main Players in Manufacturing of Spearfishing Equipment (Spearguns)

I think its personal preference and where/how theyre fishing. I've seen scuba and free divers with both. I prefer wood, its not as noisy as metal.

I have jbl woody. Its awesome. Easy, smooth trigger pull. I've shot big (30+ lb grouper) and smaller sheephead and flounder with it. Amazing, quality gun and affordable. Would definitely recommend jbl

OW almost complete. Some advice please..... :)

Enjoy Malta, just dive. I don't know, but maybe some charters require an AOW cert to dive? Not suee who your certifying agency is, but PADI only requires 5 open water dives. But like was stated earlier, just because you are AOW certified, doesn't mean your an advanced diver, just that you did...

    PADI IE this weekend

Right on, thanks for the responses. I read the article, twice, should I have the other candidates get neutral before the skill? The CD that did my IDC said many times if the standard has a time or distance, make sure its for at least the time or distance prescribed.

When did you feel comfortable diving?

First dive w/o supervision was at radio island rock jetty. Vis was like 4' and a little current. I was comfortable, I had a buddy that has been diving weekly for years. Everything came to me very quickly and naturally. I think it was around dive 15, I had my bouyancy locked on and felt fully...
