Sweet setup, I dig the spear keeper on the side. How did you make the part where you put the fish in? If you don't mind me asking

    lionfish spearing

It eventually goes away on its own. Applying heat helps breakdown the venom. Its not like the pain goes away, it lessens as the venom spreads. Then it stays sore. I'm on day 3 and my hand is still a little swollen, the backside of my hand is still tender and my thumb (where I got stuck) still...

    lionfish spearing

We use 4 or 5ft pole spears with barbed paralyzer tip, sometimes they try to swim off the spear if you didn't stick them good, like if you spear the fish against something. I got stuck on sunday, probably the worst pain I've ever felt. Worse than broken bones, cuts, burns, etc. It was like...

Yea, buck was thinkin they were gonna turn us around, but we made it. We saw the midnight express looked like he was headed back from the Naeco, thought we were done or I guess they could have been on the Papoose.

    MOREHEAD CITY Bound!

Seas definitely picked up on sunday. We went out to the Naeco and Spar. We had at least 75ft of vis. Its been incredible the last couple weeks. There's a tropical low that's supposed to cruise up the eastern seaboard this week, hopefully it stays over land like its forcasted to, and not affect...

    No fin fight, OK?

I love my mares xstreams. They're kind of a hinge fin, but I get awesome propulsion, current isn't an issue with them either. No cave diving, but I penetrate wrecks a lot, use lines, no problems. And they work good for frog kicks and back kicks.

I was on the Sea Quest. We went out to the Naeco, didn't think we were gonna make it due to the navy drills. We made and stuck all kinds of lionfish. One stuck me back. Vis was good, it was 50ft or better.

    Lightweight BCD - Suggestions ?

I dive regularly with a oceanic islander 2. Its a back inflate, about 5lbs and durable. I have others but prefer the oceanic. It has about 125 dives on it and its still good as the day I bought it.

There's 3 boats. Terry's an awesome guy, the crew is as well. Water has been in the low 70s, may be in the mid 70s by now. Lately, Ive been wearing a 4/3 and a hood and I've been fine, but I've been diving here all winter.
