    Morehead City this weekend

I dove both days last weekend (froze my butt off getting nack on the boat) and the Spar was about 72, the Aeolus was the same (they're maybe 100yds apart) and the Indra I had 67. I was in a 4/3, no hood and was alright. Weather is gonna be the issue this weekend

    Diving Central Florida coast

Anyone think there's a market for a dive charter out of Canaveral? I've been doing a ton of diving here in NC and all the wrecks are a long ride, but its all awesome. So I'm kind of used to the long rides

    Diving Central Florida coast

Right on, thanks for the reply. I'm getting out of the Marine Corps in about a year and looking in to possibly running charters out of the port. Its where I'm from just never did any diving there. I have a buddy that runs fishing charters out of there and i have a few numbers and he's gonna take...

Right on. I'm wondering why there's not much diving there. Is it the longer trips? Greenwater?

    Diving Central Florida coast

Does anyone do any diving out of Port Canaveral? I know there's a bunch of wrecks and artificial reefs and haven't really seen any (anywhere, internet or forums) talk about diving there and I don't think there's any charters out of there either. Anyone know why?

    Was I really in danger??

Like was said above, they're super curious. Theyre always hangin around above the wrecks and near the hang line here in NC. Only time you need to be cautious is when you have fish hanging from a stringer. They get REALLY curious then.

    Why Buy a MAKO Speargun?

Right on. I may just wind up buying the stuff to tie my own. I change bands pretty frequently. Which leads me to another question. I've heard putting your band material in the freezer extends its shelf life, is there any merit to this?

    Why Buy a MAKO Speargun?

Can I order just the bands?

Spare dive computer with comparable algorithm?

Next time your computer gives you a ceiling or deco stop, humor it.

Spare dive computer with comparable algorithm?

All algorithms are different, even 'the same' algorithms differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. They do that so it's proprietary and don't infringe on copyright or intellectual property. The only way to have the same times as you're buddy is have the same computer and dive shoulder to...

Advice needed on buying a used spear gun

I own a 42" jbl woody with 2 5/8ths bands. Solid gun. I spearfish in vis from 10' to 100' here in NC. I've taken small sheapshead to 30+lb grouper on it. Also, I'm a fan of the trigger mechanism on the gun. I used it (in saltwater) and didn't rinse it (dip$#!t move), left it sitting for 2...

    Lit up Anemone?

Where were these at? Ive seen some at the indra that were brightly colored tips but not glowing, they also had some blueish lavender on the tentacles. Could just be a color variation of a tube anemone.

    Newb from Raleigh, NC

Welcome and diving the wrecks offshore is awesome! Why would you wanna go all the way to Wilmington? There's a couple shops in Raleigh, Gypsy Divers comes to mind. If you want to go to the coast, there's Discovery Diving in Beaufort, and Morehead City, Olympus dive center. Both offer...

    PADI OW hyperventilation??

I agree to an extent with the keeping up current thinking, but unril its proven its only thinking. They're making changes to the OW course, its possible they're addressing hyperventilation, but who knows.
