    DIN vs YOKE (USA)?

Well that's ok, I still log my dives using Windows 3.1 on an IBM PC Jr

    nitrox downsides

Are you aware that several studies have done, including one endorsed by the highly respected Divers Alert Network, which found no correlation between diving Nitrox vs Air when it comes to post dive fatigue? There is some anecdotal evidence that if you're diving close to "the limits" that minor...

    some stuff. Hi :-)

    We all have.

    nitrox downsides

This lady feeling ill after diving nitrox seems as odd to you as you claiming you feel better and less fatigued does to me.

    nitrox downsides

You're suggesting, in the BASIC SCUBA sub forum, which is viewed and posted to by BEGINNER divers, that narcosis is a good thing and should be embraced.. because it feels good? Seems irresponsible.

    nitrox downsides

Nope. You and me and everyone else)has to dive every day and not drink or smoke and look cool without using nitrox in order to be qualified to reply to @Scuba-guy's posts. I do sort of agree with the no smoking rule though. Especially in confined spaces on dive boats where you can't get away...

    nitrox downsides

The placebo effect is strong with this one.

    nitrox downsides

I scuba dived yesterday is that close enough? And I don't smoke or drink (much) but I dive nitrox even though I already look cool.

LOL I am NOT! Just more subtle.

    nitrox downsides

Your forgot to add "stated by someone who is upset because they don't make enough in tip money to pay their bar tab".

    nitrox downsides

Yes that is the argument. Anyone who claims you must analyze your nitrox tank is being hypocritical if they don't analyze the contents of their rented air cylinders (if provided by an op or a shop that rents nitrox tanks).

    nitrox downsides

You might not use Nitrox on a 35 meter dive but I sure would along with a boatload of other divers. The MOD of EAN36 at 1.6 is 34 meters and that depth is within the typical range of where divers will get the largest benefit of nitrox as compared to air.

    DIN vs YOKE (USA)?

But you don't wonder. There aren't many, if any valid reasons for choosing DIN over yoke. Somebody important says it's the way to go and others line up without wondering why. This sort of thing happens not only in scuba but in all walks of life. People do things a certain way because they were...

    nitrox downsides

It can happen unintentionally for several reasons. But that's irrelevant, again you're answering a question while changing the parameters of the question.

    nitrox downsides

Your example only covers the scenario where the diver stays within the MOD of the selected blend. That wasn't specified in the question.

    DIN vs YOKE (USA)?

You're diving in a geographic location where yoke tanks are the norm. A DIN adapter for a yoke tank is much more cumbersome to dive with and carry around then the other way around, which only requires a small valve insert the size of a quarter and maybe a half inch thick. Seems to me that the...

Going into Deco as Rec Diver

I routinely incur a relatively short (<5 minutes) deco obligation towards the end of many of my dives, it's planned, I have the gas for it as well as the redundancy in a second tank, and while I don't have any formal tech training I do have the experience. I dive with 3 identical (as in brand...

    nitrox downsides

Whenever I see this statement I shake my head because upon deeper analysis it makes no sense when viewed in isolation. If you're diving a rental tank from an op that also supplies Nitrox, you are incurring a similar risk in that you could very well be diving a tank full of nitrox and are...

    vacation rentals

Yearly maintanance? I don't service my regulators until and unless there's a problem. Treat them properly, clean them well after diving and they'll last for many years. Serviced regs are more prone to failure than those that are left alone.
