    Help w/ selecting dive op

My usual mantra: As an instructor, I tell anyone who asks and my students that when going to Coz, decide what kind of diving you want to do first - then you'll be able to find any one or more excellent Cozumel dive operators to cater to it by using generally available information, this board...

"Regulations" Got You Down? "Human Leather Gloves" are here!

Screw the "rules." I wear gloves every time, or no tips...guess what? I always get to wear them (wink, wink, nod, nod, just put them on while descending please). It's exposure protection, not "so I can touch things" protection. It's also against the law to smoke pot, walk across the street...

"Regulations" Got You Down? "Human Leather Gloves" are here!

Exactly, and its also a matter of personal choice...somehow these mental buffons get it in their heads that gloves cause reef damage (as if the gloves go down there by themselves and cause it)...under that scenario, you could outlaw any piece of equipment or exposure protection which, on the...

The General Angst Over the PADI eLearning Program

Fear of the unknown; fear of technology and the fact that most people just don't know how to teach. It's a great program. Medical and law school students now eLearn. There's no reason why the diving classroom work can't be eLearned as well. When you do the pool and open water training, that's...

    Cozumel Dive sites

I'm with G-man. Also, even if you were an 'advanced' diver, and made it onto an advanced trip, at that point the divers decide as a group where to go, and no one individual is usually going to carry the decision on that (except in certain circumstances with a very flexible group).

HA! Nice "pricematch" policy, Leisure Pro...

What is THAT supposed to mean? As was noted, there was no mention whether the competitor offered free shipping; So, if not, why should Leisure Pro? Their price is WITH shipping included (not free shipping as was so astutely noted). If you prefer the other price, then you have to take what comes...

    Cleaning Your Gear

I clean my gear only at the end of the dive trip (no matter how many days long) by soaking it in whatever "clean" water is around for a few minutes and then drying it in the sun. Then when I get home maybe I do it again in the bathtub if I'm not too lazy (which is often). Other than that, the...

    Conjugating the verb "to dive"

I failed to mention the non sequitur of the how and why someone would or could "make their paycheck add up." How would one's paycheck fail to "add up?" I'm staring to wonder whether those walls would really be square or more like a parallelogram.

    Conjugating the verb "to dive"

Both dived and dove are standard as the past tense of dive. Dived, historically the older form, is somewhat more common in edited writing, but dove occurs there so frequently that it also must be considered standard: "The rescuer dove into 20 feet of icy water." Dove is an Americanism that...
