    Dangerous Hurricane Dean

It's best to keep it light whenever possible...it's a dive thing...the best jokes I ever heard were when a bunch of us were being swept away in a Pacific current in a boat (at least we were in a boat) that was broken down out to sea on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica where I was doing my...

    Dangerous Hurricane Dean

I wonder if Aldora Divers will be the only dive operation left on Cozumel after Dean like it was after Wilma? Anyway, glad its "forecast south" now, but there isn't a lot of margin for error and it's not like it's a little blue dot, it is hundreds of miles wide, so one quick wobble back to the N...

    Dangerous Hurricane Dean

I see we have an over-aggressive moderator policing this thread. Why don't you actually READ what it is you're deleting (or get a dictionary to understand the words used) before you just cut people's contributions? I will repeat: In this time, some of those in this thread should tone down the...

    Dangerous Hurricane Dean

How about a nice hot cup of Get the ******* out? (There's the short version). For people new to island hurricanes, tie down whatever you can, don't worry about the rest, and try to hunker down in a place without any glass windows on as high a ground as possible as far inland as possible; this is...

    Mi Casa en Cozumel

Did you say there was internet access? Is there any in the room, wired or wireless? I am thinking of staying in the Jr. Suite. Looks great, and is way less than Casa Mexicana...

Three dives in one day against the rules?

I've done 7 in Wakatobi all with the proper surface intervals and never once going into decompression...it's a function of your depth, time at depth and your off-gassing (surface) times. There is no limit based on "how many dives" you did, therefore.

May 14 SB (and friends) Dinner?

So far, I've eaten in La Choza on Friday, Especias on Saturday, Prima on Sunday and El Moro tonight...lunches at Rock N' Java in between dive trips or beaching or BS sessions with Apple and breakfast every morning at Casa Mex (since it's included)...I still have La Cocay, that new-ish gourmet...

Wild Storm in Cozumel Right Now!

We're having a wild storm right now. The surf is way up, the wind crazy and the rain is just a torrent with thunder and lightening! Lights are going on and off at Casa Mex (although now we're back on). I was in Especias whn it kicked up and I had to run home all full of Adrian's Crab Fingers and...

Caribe Blu/BXTS/28Apr-5May/2005 vs 2007/report & new lessons learned (long!)

Please go back and re-read my post; since you apparently commented before reading. Yes, the 21st century, which should make people even LESS needy than they were before. Demanding snacks and towels isn't a "style of diving." It's "you and people like you" that keep me and most of the people I...

Caribe Blu/BXTS/28Apr-5May/2005 vs 2007/report & new lessons learned (long!)

Here are some hints: Bring your own snacks, then you can eat them when you want (and have what you want as well); Bring your own towel, and you can have your favorite fish or whatever towel, and have it when you want; Fills are fills...I come back from every dive with 1200 psi, even if...

Geez, let's just go wherever. I'll be there every night from the 11th-19th. I'll check SB when I am on line. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know. I will be in Casa Mex. I eat every night, so, I'll go wherever!

"Regulations" Got You Down? "Human Leather Gloves" are here!

The dive boat doesn't have any risk - like they are going to seize a boat because someone has gloves in their bag. Even if this regulation is in effect, how could it possibly be enforced? Just HAVING gloves in your possession can't be a crime, and it's not like they have little police divers...
