Frequency of advanced divers practicing CESAs ? [Poll]

Unfortunately I practice them every week as I follow students up and down. It’s really great on the ears and sinuses....

    Transmitter Hose Length

I’m not sure of the SB policy on web links, though a Google search will show that custom hose lengths are available from a number of companies that would satisfy your request.

How to get hose protectors on?

Far better off removing them. All they do is trap salt, water, and grime. They are not protecting anything.

Florida Keys in November - my plan so far

Pennekamp is a great op, though as you mention they do visit the same sites as the majority of other dive ops in the area. Rainbow Reef has a positive reputation, as does Sailfish Scuba in Key Largo. All three are within a few minutes of one another and offer in water dive guides. Virtually...

    SSI or PADI

I would like to be the first of no doubt many that will state it’s the instructor, and not the agency you should be shopping for. I recommend speaking to veteran divers in your area on their thoughts on local instructors.

    Buttons on Perdix computer

Buttons work fine, even in dry gloves. As stated above, the cuff of my drysuit does tend to engage the button, though the solution is to wear it up further on my forearm.

    Lollipops or not?

Did you use quick links to extend the ring at the front where it attaches to the d ring?

    Lollipops or not?

With this configuration, do you have any issues reaching the rings to clip on? I typically dive in a drysuit and dry gloves and don’t think I could comfortably don the cylinders with them this far back.

    Lollipops or not?

Not neccessarily true. You will never get your tanks far behind your arm pits with a ring bungie system.

    Green woman in your ads

SpaceX is successful, yet Elon Musk is still a douche bag. So these factors are not mutually exclusive.

I too found it out of place and at odds with the professional image of Shearwater.

    DUI vs Aqualung Fusion Drysuits

I'm pretty happy with my fusion, though I find the zipper rubs against my collar bones once compressed with a bp/w harness. I would prefer a traditional front zip.

Death rate for experienced scuba divers

I would like to see a study done on why the dive buddy was not able to successfully intervene in these fatalities. I figure many of these deaths are either due to a health event or a buddy pair of equally deficient dive experience. In both cases, having a buddy around would be of little use.

Death rate for experienced scuba divers

According to these statistics, the vast majority of fatalities involved members of a buddy pair, yet the dive community is still quite anti solo diving. The statistics just dont support all of the hate against going solo.

    Thread suggestion

i propose that snorkeling and free diving be separated into their own sections.

    Filling scuba tanks

Surprised we don’t hear of all the deaths and ruptured tanks down in N. Florida from the self serve air stations considering they are being dry filled to 3800 psi in the hot sun..... oh wait....

Best way to pack up Perdix AI in its case?

Same here. I don’t think mine has been back in its case in over 100 dives.
