AERIS Merges With Oceanic. But they are the same company.

I guess that explains it then... :eyebrow:

Should I get a Second stage alt or air2

$2 hose protectors can also cover the visible signs of a worn hose.

    A ScubaBoard reunion

:thumb: Adobo was my Essentials teammate, back in the day! He's moved far beyond me, as I reverted to a single tank recreational diver and am far happier there. I met Parrotheaddiver and Francis on SB. They invited me on one of their CCV trips years ago and I still go on dive trips with...

    Weird buddy experience

And how, exactly, is that appropriate for an instabuddy situation, such as the OP's experience? The bailout mix may or may not be appropriate for an OOO open circuit diver, but the air or nitrox in the OC diver's tank is very likely not in the rebreather diver's deco plan, which is probably...

    Weird buddy experience

How can an open circuit diver be a buddy for a rebreather diver (and vice versa)?

    Video: USS Spiegel Grove

Nice! I don't remember ever diving the Grove when there was so little current at depth!

May we please have a new rule

Maybe HowardE (or other vBulletin-wielding ninja) could programmatically replace thread titles written in ALL CAPS with all lower case? Similar to the way it works now in the body of a post?

Should I get a Second stage alt or air2

I used to own a Pioneer, it will dump plenty of air at the inflator if vertical or the back dump valve if horizontal. But the real solution is being able to disconnect the inflator hose at a moments notice. It's a good drill to practice. Speaking of practice, it's well worth practicing...

    Who knows Apeks stuff?

DST first stages support the Apeks 5th port kit that gives you similar doubles hose routing to the MK25:

    Who knows Apeks stuff?

My Apeks have been solid. I got my first set for cold water and added more for doubles. Now that I only do warm water single-tank diving, I don't think the whole sealed diaphragm design is as necessary for me as it once was; in fact the doubles reg set was sold to someone who will actually use...

    HOG SPG (BAR) Labelling Error?

Are digital gauges any more accurate, or do they just show greater precision?

Coco View. Wait, that's where I'm already going. Again. Does that disqualify me? ;) John

    HOG SPG (BAR) Labelling Error?

This. The first thing I do with a new SPG is breathe a tank all the way down, just so I know where "all the way down" will actually be if I were to ever need it. I also like to know if 3000 psi on the gauge is anywhere near 3000 psi. Interesting video clip that shows what a brass/glass SPG...
