OK.. SOP
I would add, that had the CP been purchased as "New" chances are they would have re-placed it with new. Even with over a 100 dives logged. Under Warranty of course. As they did with me. To bad your retailer was unable or unwilling to help educate you on the warranty specifics...
IMO direct face to face purchases of high dollar warrantied equipment from a well established LDS will more times than not result in better service all around.
Short of a primary CCR CP, I would suggest honing one's skills to the point that a CP is not considered a life support device.
Even here in FL if the CP is left out it should air dry enough to go asleep. Mine stays in my glove box overnight then back into its pelican case the next day.
Was your retailer on-line or LDS? I will and would never do a high dollar purchase with an on-line retailer. (Except for the local...
Sad to hear of your displeasure with Aeris. I have owned both an Oceanic and now Aeris CPs and have had nothing but exceptional service with them. Especially when the items were sent back through the retailers where I purchased them. One was a battery issue.. See below.. Other was a...
Did have shipping posted but decided to give a local a break on re-inspect and O2 clean by pick-up. Going Cave and these tanks are not what I need. Thanks for the interest..
2-HP 120cf/3442psi XS SCUBA X-7 (Worthington) tanks. Purchased new in 08. Current Vis and O2 cleaned with convertible DIN/Yoke valves. Inserts included. $500 local pick-up Tampa area. UPDATE: One Sold One Left $250
Edit:
The jury is still out on what exactly was the "trigger" that caused this tank to fail. Many factors usually lead to something like this. Just as the analogy of links in any accident chain. Do diligence and education applied to any situation should keep one on the safe side. I'm sure as more...
Only down side to dry is I did not dive it last year during the winter. New GF/Diver was diving wet. Her being a new diver and buddy I wanted to gauge exposure to know when I could expect her to be cold. And handing her my towel after only drying my hair seemed rude.
Comes out of storage...
Spoke too a person today who witnessed the showing of the tank in question by investigators at a dive shop and heard confirmation that the person interviewed knew him (Russ) to use it as an O2 tank. However, the contents of the tank are still in question. Was also told by person that the...
Met last week. The new Nomad JT is sweet. Hopefully soon I can take one off your hands. Thanks for all the tips and again best of luck with the shop. Great location by the way...
His last video posted before his death. Those who knew you and were your students will never forget you.. Rest in Peace and see you in Heavens Waters..

I would like to interject a theory as to why he would be described as having burns and a flash being seen by one alleged witness. If one were to allow high pressure O2 to pass over an organic compound it would cause friction=heat+organic material(Russ)+O2 you have fire. A flash fire that would...
It's good for all who think it is ok to overfill that there will probably not be anyway of telling if this was the cause. In fact it's my belief that even if it were there are some who would continue it's practice. Merely side stepping my point by pointing out the risk to Cave divers being low...
Since the topic of overfill has been raised and may or may not be a factor in Russ's death, I would like to express my disgust at those divers that would condone and practice such reckless behavior as over filling tanks. As a new Cavern diver the issue of respect for safety in the Cave community...
