Sounds to me like the automated calibration procedure is kinda meh, and a dodgy cell is compounding the problem. Assuming you're actually using 100% O2 and not some concentrator garbage or the like.
Cell "wake up" is a thing when you first take it out of the package, because they're stored in...
Sure. An alternative is the Mako rashguard. It's got a 1mm neoprene front and back, and I find that it works great for those times when it's a little chilly but not quite wetsuit weather.
Regs up, handles out.
Left post should have 5th port going to your inflator, transmitter down the tank, bungee'd short host on the turret. Ditch the button SPG's. They fail on the regular and are generally a waste of money.
Right post should have 5th port going to your drysuit inflator...
Breakaways are a really poor solution to a non-existent problem with some significant issues that can cause some very significant problems if you have to share gas in anger.
The fact that the OP decided that it was prudent to create a poll with only two choices, both of them with negative connotations, tells me what I need to know about him/her.
Regardless of whether or not their experiences mirror reality, or are even common amongst other clients, their attitude...
Absolutely. I'm just pointing out that we can't necessarily discount tox'ing simply based on the fact that she was found at 24m. She could just as easily tox there as at 90m. Or maybe she didn't tox at all, went hypoxic, lost the loop, and drowned. Could be any number of things.
Really, without...
Your analysis should include FO2, MOD, date, initials, and I like putting pressure on mine. The poster I was responding to was incorrectly assuming MOD decals like those on DIR-rigged stages was an FO2 marking. I'm just pointing out that FO2 goes on the analysis tape.
Not necessarily. She could certainly tox deep and happen to be positively buoyant, the loop venting as she ascends until it floods completely making her negative enough to settle on the reef at 24m. Not saying that's what happened, but it's a possibility.
Scrubber duration may or may not be a...
Yep. And they posted bail and were out partying on Halloween. Must not be too concerned with the fraud charges if they're posting their celebrations all over Facebook.
That's not the percentage. That's the MOD. Those decals are depth decals.
The percentage is what gets marked on the analysis tape. That could be something as simple as duct tape or painters tape, to as elaborate as pre-printed tape with fields for each bit of data.
I don't think anyone has asked this stuff yet.
Do you know if there were any specifics about her physical state when she was recovered? Signs of hypoxia or CO poisoning (blue fingers, lips, etc.)? Signs of drowning like blood in her mask? An unusual amount or bloody lung fluids in the loop...
That's just old school group think. The new paradigm is TruDive. Just tell it what you've got and it tells you what to do!!!!! No thinking necessary, seriously, just don't think about it.....
The no O2 suit gas warning comes because every couple of years there are stories about divers using chemical warmers inside their drysuits and would get serious burns. Using the type that relies on an oxidizing reaction to generate heat, when exposed to oxygen-enriched gas, significantly...
"We're gonna keep using 20/85 because deep stops make students work more." Huh? C'mon dude.......
The article is a Ross Hemingway-style cop out. I think it's funny that he proudly talks about pushing boundaries and moving forward by extrapolating data (in another part of the series) to create...
You've gotta purge your suit a bunch to get it to a worthwhile FAr. Bring a T-bottle.
If you're doing dives where using argon is going to make a difference, you're gonna have the logistics and costs sorted to bring a T-bottle of argon and purge before you splash.
BTW they did a study on this...
I don't think anyone really believed that there was no link between Sotis and Nexus.
The Libyan sale is old news though. I'm kind of surprised it's taken the Feds this long to go after him.
I'm not blaming you for the instabuddy thing. It happens. In this case because you couldn't bring your buddy and spent the ride out blowing chunks, that belated conversation ended up biting you in the ass a little bit. Happens to all of us at one point or another. The fact that the issue...
It's a safety stop. It's not mandatory. Don't call it a deco stop. That has implications. It's not simply a "syntax" thing. If you go on a rec boat and tell them you did a 3 minute deco stop you're liable to get benched for the next dive. Especially if you do something like say, "I blew my deco...
