    Twenty-two minutes of humility

8 months is plenty of time to sell it and buy a better suit that doesn't suck for everything but a rental fleet.

    My AN/DP/Helitrox course

But don't you wanna ride that H train? All the cool kids are doing it. Just be lucky you can get it from Extreme Exposure for ONLY 27 bucks a roll. All those "eastern atlantic" weenies are paying 40 dollars (EU) for the honor and thankful to be graced by GI3's cross-atlantic goodwill gesture...

You want the device to indicate the same value as your bump gas. So if you've got 20ppm bump gas, the box should read 20ppm after calibration. Alternatively, if you're one of those people that subscribe to the idea that ANY carbon monoxide is unacceptable, you can calibrate it with your breath...

    My AN/DP/Helitrox course

I've never called it nitrox tape nor heard it called that, but this is what @Scuba Cobra is talking about. Not specifically this GUE stuff, but the tape in general. GUE Gas Analysis Tape

Duct tape is for analysis marks by the neck. Nothing but MOD decals anywhere else. Use standard deco gases. There's literally no reason not to except to be obstinate.

    Got certified, now what?

Lake Pleasant sucks, but it's good practice. I'll swing up to put hours on my CCR before a big cave trip, and it's definitely a good place to practice skills. It's pretty chilly this time of year. If you're not in a drysuit, it's not comfortable.

    NERD2 question.

Any of the EXT models can do OC Tec/Rec, CC fixed setpoint as well as monitoring cells. Short of acting as a controller, the Fischer EXT models are the most versatile. The DiveCAN models do not support OC Tec or OC Rec as per page 38 of the NERD2 manual...

Latest attempt to deal with sidemount al80 tank trim

It is. It tends to go along with people who think ring bungees are the way to go. But hey, pontoon boats can be fun too. They end up looking like this: WRONG PICTURE> PLACE HOLDER UNTIL I CAN FIND THE ONE I WANTED.

Latest attempt to deal with sidemount al80 tank trim

Definitely a solution in search of a problem, and a rather elaborate one at that. You're already putting the tanks out of position by using ring bungees with chokers, so now you're inventing an elaborate system of gears and pulleys and magnets and flux capacitors to solve a problem that the best...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

Just remember with a convenience zip, you're adding another significant ingress point into the suit. Most suits either leak from a pinhole, or from a zipper, either not closed all the way, or some sort of failure. Zipper cost is not insignificant either, so factor that repair into the...

Rebreather as bailout for sat divers

Can y'all figure out whose member is bigger by posting actual facts relevant to the conversation instead of just poorly alluded to fonts of secret back room knowledge, that way we know who's actually got the longest dong and we can move on already?

    My AN/DP/Helitrox course

I lose 12 hours worth of time while the latex seal glue cures.... Realistically I can make a phone call, drop my suit off on the way home, and pick it up on the way to the cave in the morning. If I were going on a liveaboard, or traveling to a place where I know I don't have that sort of...

    Use a gag strap?

I know that the support divers who had a movie Meg on The Cave got hit when they used the EAC's with the adapters. So they went to granular scrubber and no more problems.

Pool time is great. Like anything else, it's a very useful tool. It's not a replacement for real in-water time, but I've used pool time before courses, as equipment check-out dives, hell, even as a fun way to spend an afternoon. I've done everything from monkey diving in board shorts to full on...

I've had crappy battery connection issues, CO sensor falling off the board, interface issues, connection issues, lock out issues when it's time for calibration and my phone isn't around. And I was backer #1 on Kickstarter. Literally the first backer because I believed that the market needed...

Products were crap. Service was crap. Not surprising. I wonder what relationship the service center has with them. $80 for CO calibration?! Kick rocks bro. Buy the CO sensors from Mouser or Digikey. Buy a cheap can of bump gas, $30 from CalGas. That pay for firmware upgrade stuff was crap.
