Hawaii Voting to Ban Sale of Shark Fins

I still looks like it is effective July 1, 2050. I'd call that a hollow victory for sharks.

    Don't Go Boat Diving...

How about the guy in the Isotherm? Balls as big a church bells! Got to commend him for diving 'wet' in 39 degree water with guys who are dry.

    Opinion on Reg

I personally hate it when manufactures do the 'parts for life' program. You will pay around $35 a stage to get your regs serviced annually. Can we agree that this may be average? I think saving $50 a year is a bit high for the value of the parts. I can buy from a dealer the parts for my regs...

    Going to the keys

The bulk of the 'good diving' is in the Key Largo area. You have the John Pennekamp area as well as the Speigel Groove, the Bibb, the Duane, the Eagle and there are a few other shallow wrecks as well. Key West isn't so hot, but they have the new Vandenberg. If you can make it out to the...

Fine regulator. If all you're doing in diving in FL, it may be overkill.

At what pressure is a neoprene suit fully compressed?

Look at Boyles law. I'd really guess that once you break into that 4ATA, you're not going to notice the actual change.

A few snorkeling questions from a newbie!

I'm with Hank this one. The OP did ask if it would be hard to go down if his wetsuit made him like a cork. There is a very fine line between freediving and snorkeling. I can't tell you how many snorkels I've seen swim down 20ft to get a better look at something. Whether they know it or...

Some advice for my weighting issue

I volunteer at our local Aquarium. Nice salty water. I wear a 5mm full suit with a 5mm vest under it. We use some Oceanic jacket BC and steel HP100's. We do a lot of diving in shallow, 8ft, water. Depending upon the task I wear 12-14#'s. I'm a wee bit taller than you and a wee bit heavier...
