    Medical Letter

Haven't experienced it. I was last in Marsa Alam in April and wasn't asked for one. This could be something that your specific dive operator requires. Phil

Looking for a good deal on Sartek

I've been searching for a new light for some time and posted a question regarding dimmable hid's some weeks ago. I've finally narrowed my choices to a Solus LED, Metalsub or a Sartek 21/13 light. The prices on the Solus and Metalsub are rather higher ( both around 1100 euros) than I would like...

It does sound bad, doesn't it? But that's about normal for some of the fresh water sites in Holland, too. If you're accustomed to "bad" viz, your first Red Sea dive is almost sensory overload! Phil

    oxycheq led light

It's this one: http://www.ssp.ie/prod_BACKUP.htm I haven't used one, but I've been emailing with Kevin Jury at Solus about one of the primary lights and he's taken an enormous amount of time to answer my questions. I'll be ordering a primary from him as soon as I save the money. Hope...

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

I see your point. And it makes sense. I mentioned in an earlier post that I have a singles wing...actually, it's a back-inflate bc (a Seaquaest Balance). So I am sort of stuck with buying a double-bladder wing, unless I want to buy two singles wings. Uhhh...I can't really afford that. Unles...

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

More information! Wonderful! Kompressor, I have seen the DIR Zone wings and they look good. I don't know anyone who dives one, nor have I seen a double bladder wing from them. What do they offer? Padiscubapro, thanks for the input. I checked the Oxycheq site...$700 for just the wing...

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

No, it's not out of the question. I firmly resolve to stop smoking...about three minutes after I die. :D I will probably go with the Dive Rite Classic because that's what I can find locally. I looked at the Golem Gear site and really like the Oxycheq wing. The 50 lb would be my choice...

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

Thanks Colliam, The Superwing has much more lift than I need. What do you think of the dual Bladder Classic? 59 lb lift should actually be more than enough. Phil

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

Hi Xander, It's just you. ;) No, I understand your point. Here's my rationale. I'm pretty much an air hog. I'm old and I smoke like a chimney. I want the extra time I'll get with doubles. Using Nitrox, of course. I'll likely never reach the trimix stage, but I'm doing advanced nitrox...

Made the leap and ordered my BP and harness.

Stainless wings! I want some too! Sorry...couldn't resist. :D Phil

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

Hi Kompressor, Thanks for your input, but like I said in my original post, I do dive with a drysuit in Holland. But in the Red Sea, I prefer a wetsuit. I don't go into long deco...not trained or ready for that yet. What I want is one doubles wing to use in both circumstances. I've used a...

    Dimmable HID?

After doing more searching, it appears that only Sartek and Metalsub make switchable HIDs. Any ideas why more manufacturers don't make them? Perhaps the market is too small. Guess I'd like to have a "one-size-fits-all" light. I like the durability of the Metalsub and I live about 10 miles...

    Dimmable HID?

I was wondering about that. Makes sense considering that dimmable halogen lights have been around forever. I guess if manufacturers could make a dimmable HID, they would. Phil

    Double bladder wing recommendations?

I agree that 70# is larger than I need. I would prefer to have a wing in the 55-60# range, but was just looking at everything in the vicinity. Appreciate your feedback, though. Phil
