Was the visibility normal for this time of year? Or, was it just unlucky timing due to unusual weather perhaps?

Price wise...I just priced out Bonaire for March from Portland for 2 people. $1800, and that's with somewhat pricier airfare out of Maine, and I could of skimped more on the airbnb if I needed to. Airfare, truck, tanks, airbnb. Just add food.

Have always wanted to visit the kelp beds. What other diving is around the area that might be included in a weeklong trip to socal? Catalina, Channel islands? Is there enough diving around the kelp beds to just stay in that area, wherever that is? Sorry, I know not alot of specific...

Greetings! Planning on visiting the BI in 2026. Seems to be plenty of good diving both boat and shore available, on both the west and east side. Other than putting together where and who to go with (for boat dives), one thing I haven't read much in the searched threads is what differences...

Just to add an update. Blue Wilderness has shut down their boat diving operation according to their website.

This may be an ignorant question or overlooked detail in the report as not a CCR diver, but is there not any warnings when the loop becomes unbreathable from lack of o2? Also, are there any sensations a diver would feel that something like this is off causing them to jump to bailout out of caution?

If it's not under instruction, to me the DM is simply there to show the route, and we follow 'very' loosely.

From my trip in January, I'd go, dive every day I was there, then leave. The main island didn't seem very appealing at all. I stayed one day/night there before boarding the boat. Other than diving, i didn't see much appeal. Staying in one of the huts, even over the water for a week, I'm not...

Realistic expectations. The life itself on the reef I don't find mind blowing. The best part of the peace and quiet and pace at which one can dive and explore the island. It's very very relaxing for me. No boat times, no groups of divers to dive directly with. Just a truck full of tanks...

In May I ended up being pretty good in a new 5mm. Tried 3mm one day and was froze by the fourth dive of the day.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have stayed with sunset once before and it was a fine experience. Just two most likely.

Any suggestions on thinking outside the box of a stay on Bonaire for 4-6 weeks? Would be wfh a few days a week and diving the rest. I'm not sure the typical cost per a weekly visit x6 is worthwhile. But maybe a sublet or something would make sense. TIA

If it were me, and asking this question, I would already know the answer simply by 'having' to ask. Personally, I don't run my gas on slim margins.
