Specialty License Plate update: CALL TO ACTION!!!

Here's an old TPR study on the plates. It's a bit old, but still illustrative. http://www.window.state.tx.us/tpr/tpr5/4gg/gg04.html

Specialty License Plate update: CALL TO ACTION!!!

Translation (from one who works for the Lege): No F'ing Way. Given the position they are taking, TPWD would almost certainly fight a rider placed on a bill directing them to take this action. A legislator would have to really believe in this, and likely call in some chits, to get the plate...

Predicting the Future or Stuck in the Past - The AAUS Dive Comptuer Workshop

Interesting proceedings. The SINGLE most interesting chart, to me, was the Suunto "Remembered Dive versus Computer Profile of Dive" chart.

mike ball or peter hughes for png

My wife and I took the Star Dancer on the exploratory route through South New Britain for our honeymoon. I'd have to say that it was one of the peak experiences of my life...not just the diving (which was great) but the cultural side of it as well. Being on first-human-to-dive sites was...

    Flower Gardens

Be sure you have open heel fins. If you have full foot fins, you have to tuck 'em in your BC befoe climbing up the ladder.

Sea Searcher II. Looks like they are done...from the website: "As many of you know, we lost Harold not long ago. We decided to run the 2005 season but it's just not the same without him. We would like to say thank you to all of our Sea Searcher family that dove and supported us. This...

    St. Croix Treasures?

Mermaid, just saw this old post. The potshards used to just litter the beach north of the pier all the way up to the country club. Sorry to hear that F'sted is all shut down.

    Gradually diving deeper.

There's an idea in mountain climbing called "exposure." A technical move can be considered more serious if the consequences of failure are greater. Concrete example. I used to live in Glencoe, Scotland, in the Highlands. There's a famous ridge walk there called the Aonach Eagach and on this...

    Puerto Rico

We did this in November 2005, took a taxi into Old San Juan wandered around, had lunch. Great to do on a pretty day! You'll have a boarding pass, so you don't need to recheck in when you return. Clearing security was no problem, either...we allowed an hour and it took 15 minutes or so as I...

    Non-diving vacation in the Carribean

I thought Grenada was a pretty interesting topside destination, particularly if you spend some time on Cariacou. A day trip to the Tabago Cays is very doable from there as well. Of course, I was there pre-Mitch, so it may have changed a bit.

Yeah, we're really looking forward to getting back. I came down with a cold a couple of days into the trip and, frankly, for awhile it was all I could do to haul myself out of bed, suit up, and jump off of the dock at the Black Durgon!

    St. Croix Treasures?

When I was a kid living in Sprat Hall in 1981/82 I found an old pistol, grapeshot, a deeply encrusted hatch cover and lots and lots and lots of pot shards snorkelling off the country club in Frederikstead. The pistol now has a place of honor in my rock garden here in Austin. Does that...

PNG - Is land based possible?

Walindi is an EXCELLENT choice. I would recommend an Australian shop, DiversionOz (Google them). Used them for our honeymoon. Get them to give you a quote for the flight from POM + the stay at Walindi. Should be no problem to get it booked and paid for now.
