Clueless about Dive Computers. Need Help.

Take a look at the Mares Nemo Sport...$300. If you're looking to get serious...Oceanic VT3, Suunto Vytec/D6/D9, Uwatec Galileo Sol/Terra. The later gets expensive real fast. But it would probably be wise to invest maybe at least $500+ in a good wrist mount dive computer.

    Between Oceanic and Suunto

Hands down, go with the VT3. With it you can switch between 3 independent wireless transmitters so you can moniter 3 separate cylinders. It has a buddy pressure check feature and you can monitor your buddy's air. I mean, if that's important to you, it's a cool feature. The others I believe...

Soon to be diver from VA

Hi Drew, welcome. I'm new here as well. I live in Virginia Beach. I suppose you chose either Lynnhaven Dive Center or Divemasters for OW cert.

    Newbie needing advice

IMO, I would take a pass on that one. Also with you not being too concerned with the wetsuit and gloves, then there's the divelight, knife, and duffel bag...sounds like a bunch of filler. I just don't see the benefit outweigh the cost. I'm not saying it's a bad deal, just not a deal to jump at.

Hello all! I'm new here to the ScubaBoard community. I am from Virginia Beach. Stumbled on this site by accident but it is very nice to see such an active forum and community on scuba diving. I look forward in being involved.
