If you don't need AI and your vision is "OK" or better, then +1 on the Deep 6 Excursion, and put the (significant) savings toward other equipment or actual diving!
I would strongly recommend non Dive branded gear. 1) it doesn't scream steal me, I contain expensive gear; 2) you can usually save $; 3) more options. I really like the Osprey brand of backpacks and travel gear. And it really is guaranteed for life, no matter what the baggage handlers etc. do...
As an alternative to a good, used, serviced set, Deep 6 Excursion might fit the bill? After a few years of renting we went with the Signature series but the entry level might fit your needs.

I go through air quicker than my petite wife, so I always used a snorkel on the surface until we were ready to descend. As we're not really in choppy waters and that amount of time is usually < 5 minutes I've stopped doing that. I also moved to a primary donate set up and noticed that the...
Here's my take from similar experience. We did a 1 week trip to Roatan and did a "try SCUBA" dive. Liked it enough to continue diving that week and got certified. Liked it in Roatan that the next year we planned 2 trip, 1 with the family (5 kids) and 1 with just the wife and I. We go back at...
Mac is not the only game in town, and you will pay a premium for going that route. There are plenty of good options for "just" photo editing and you can save a decent amount of money by going Windows. Memory, however, is your best friend, combined with a decent processor and a fast SSD.
If...

If you want, PM me details of what you are looking for. I think there's one still available attached to ours (2BR/BA downstairs, open living/dining/kitchen upstairs), and we have a friend that's otherwise involved in real estate there.
9 of us trying to go to Roatan for Christmas, all paid $175 for the 'more accurate' PCR test. Two came back with positive, and both of us go into our workplaces (different company) a few times a week. I had zero symptoms, the other had minimal.
Got a pair of used ones last year here on the forum for use with my TG-4. I got mine with a a package that included a tray, arms, floats and cables etc., but either way I'm very happy with the strobes and anyone that's considering them for use with a smaller/compact sized camera should jump on...
No resort, we have a place in walking distance to West End/ Half Moon Bay. Thanks for the kind offer though, and if we're there at the same time we'll be sure to check in with you guys. As we still have some school aged ones and a couple in college we tend to schedule around their breaks and...
Hit a bear on the PA turnpike late at night. Was also towing a short (17') camper. It was an older ('99 I think) Suburban. My goal was to keep it straight and come to as safe a stop as possible on the hard shoulder. I knew there were a couple of 18w rigs not far behind me that I had just...
And a few more from the same trip, compared to our usual haunt of Roatan there seemed a lot more Nudibranch in Bali! Again, not sure if these are all Nudi.
Here's some from our Bali trip last year, think they're all Nudi! I was pretty happy with these, then after perusing the pics on this thread it looks like I'm going to have to up my game and work on my composition, lighting, focus, and patience!!
Replacement CX1 tail cap has been "dry fired" a lot to compare to the original while cleaning and cleaning and more cleaning it. I'm very happy with the replacement and satisfied with the original. If I close my eyes and do a blind test I can tell the difference, but not by much anymore.
Will...
So we've all been 'stuck' under one roof and a couple have had a day of sniffles/ high temp (100.1), but other than that we're all fine. I have had absolutely zero symptoms. That's good news in one sense because the alternatives aren't pretty. However it also seems to make it even more...
PCR test came back positive for me and one other of our party. No symptoms or anything. Looks like trip is off. Wife's birthday next week too, seriously not a happy camper. But at least we're all around, not everyone has been so fortunate.
After all that my PCR test came back positive so no trip. Messed up Christmas plans and the wife's 50th. Sucks, but in light of what some others are going through at least we're still around.
