    DiveRite vs OMS

Ok, this topic has seen it's share of web time but I figure one more time wont hurt ;) I'm looking at getting a new BC. Narrowed the choice down to Transpac II or OMS IQ. I'm looking for opinions on which way to go. Here's some info to help out. Usually diving fresh water, with some time...

Forget all the HK's, Sigs (although that is what I carry), Glock's, etc. Doesnt matter what you have. This will take care of almost any underwater threat. Just a little more expensive than the Sigs. Whiskey Class" Submarine Displacement: 1,050 tons surface: 1,350 submerged Length: 75.2m...

For that 300-400 lb pissed off Grouper, use the 12 gauge bang stick like Ghof said but instead of buckshot, use a slug. Much more effective.

Comming out in 2002 from the gun manufactures is a water activited silencer. Tests show that the divers using the equipment could barely hear the shots going off.... LOL..

Ok, I found the parts you are refering too. Are you looking into this just because it can be done? Or do you just have some bad a** critters in the water there Dont get me wrong, doing something just because is my fav way of doing things. Esp. if someone tells me it can't be done.

BTW, what special equipment are you refering to? The Glock 17 is the original with all other models being based on that design. Since Glock made the original claim that this gun can be fired underwater, why couldnt the rest be firec underwater as well?

Didnt mean to offend anyone with that response, but I dont think glock would condone/warranty there gun being fired underwater. And not trying to influnece anyones believes, but with the advent of powerheads mounted onto speargun shafts, why would you subject a $400 handgun to that kind of...

You really need to use the Glock 20 (10mm) underwater so it will penatrate the water column farther, or the Glock 29 (subcompact version). It will fit nicely in your BC pocket. A real plus is if you have a CHL (concealed carry permit). Although I dont know how the game wardens would take to...

New tank is at LDS, came in today while I was buying other things I really didnt need. Paid for 1/2 of it. I'll pay for the rest later. Easier to explain that way... This is the perfect time for it to come in too. It's been getting down to the mid 40's at night here now. I'll play up on...

    Have a guestion about steel

Got the LP72's yesterday. Both tanks have 3/4-14 threads, old Dacor models ('77 manufacture) made by PST, 2071+ psi rated. Checked on tank bads. 90 bucks from OMS for the bands!! The manifold (isolation type), is about 300 from OMS. That I expected, tanks bands though, that was a shock.

hey I've got it. Tell me what you think about the strong stance; 'Honey, I bought a new tank that cost me 250.00, yes it was a necessity. Keep in mind I did buy you a house last year and a truck this year, so I think I am justified..' So how bad will that go over? Wait what was that...

    Have a guestion about steel

If they are the 1800psi tanks, is there any downfall to them other than being ULP's (ultra low pressure...) guy says 5 of them have K valves, 1 has J valve. If I get these, I plan on replacing valves with H manifold and having a small set of doubles. If the tanks are of the 'old' type there...
