Yes I agree, I should have not have gotten so sensational but unfortunately I cannot change the title now. I don't know exactly how the sensors work but most sensors degrade with use and secondly with time so I was just trying to alert people that a newer model is out there. I was never trying...
Has there every been an incident when the unit was detecting high CO in your car or at a restaurant? I am just wondering how prevelent this problem is.
I think your losing it .
Just kidding, I linked the wrong photo but I corrected it now.:)
The manufacturer date info is on Amazons web page. It may not be the exact date it came out but it is the date that Amazon started carrying it (which today is pretty much the same thing lol)
So the...
I got a great heads up by @tbone1004 that a cheaper alternative Carbon Monoxide meter was made by Sensorcon. They have several models that all seem to be good but for $20 more your really better off going with the "Inspector Industrial Pro". I was just about to buy it on Amazon when I decided...
Thank you so much :)
You have really gone out of your way to help me. This one is within my budget and has good reviews. I also like that it has an air line attachment, I think it should be easy to DIY something so it can sample the LP port and not get any pressure on the sensor.
I wish it worked but it doesn't. I have been part of something like that in two other Hobbies. Amateur Radio and Drones. In both cases the companies we checked said they would look out for serial numbers but that they could not inform anybody if they found one and they also could not block...
Thanks for the replies, I think I will try out MacDive soon and use it on my iPad or iPhone. I don't own a Mac. It seems like that would be the way to get the most out of it.
I wish this Poll had included the Shearwater cloud. I get it that the OP wanted to see which of the others is best but now I am confused. Is Macdive and Subsurface better than the Shearwater software or just different.
Yes, Duracell batteries made today are absolutely crap. I think that I had read that the company was sold in the 70s to Warren Buffet and the manufacturing sent to China and South America.
As it stands the manufacturer is just using up the name and giving customer cheap crap in the same nice...
I really love both the Perdix and Teric.
Someone mentioned phones and recharging and life span being about two years before you see degradation. Well made Lithium Ion batteries like the ones in iPhones and most likely also in the Teric have a life span that is primarily determined by the...
The Palm CO looks really nice and would be the best choice but it is a bit to pricey for me.
The Arduino system is a very cool design but I am kind of looking for something portable and durable. It would be really nice if somebody makes that into a kit and supplies a proper housing for it.
I...
I was seriously into Spear Fishing via Snorkeling 2-4 days a week 6 hours per day out at sea from 1975-1985. Got in lots of good free diving and developed pretty good breath holding skills and since I was typically alone I learned not to panic no matter what. The last 3 years of that period I...
Thanks for the reply. I started reading more on the PSA machines and I noticed that they filter out the Noble gases as they concentrate o2. When I was younger and really into diving all of this stuff was kind of talked about but it seemed like something that was so far out there that only...
Hats of to you guys. I read half of this thread and am in awe at the technical levels you guys have reached in this Hobby. In my field of Electronics it's impossible to know even half of the stuff. I never looked at Diving that way until I started to read some of these kinds of threads. One...
So much easier to spot Red or Yellow gear that has fallen off during a dive. You can go up to the maximum visibility range and just scan an area. Black gear requires a close sweep and takes ten times as long to find on the rocks.
I get what your saying and its 100% true but honestly it does not matter to me if the protector gets scratched because as soon as the dive is over and I am washing down my gear the thing is coming off. It would be nice if someone made a Silicone one for the Teric as that would probably add...
Thanks for the info and yes I also got the feeling that Arnaud is very good at customer service. At the end of the day I will buy one regardless of shipping cost but it would be nice to have a US supplier for these items.
I got a second email from Arnaud at Diveavenua in France and he said he would love to find a dealer in the USA that is willing to buy some inventory and sell within North America.
If anybody is interested in carrying these I am more than willing to buy a Teric protector from you. I am even...
Yes it looks robust but you know once that Black on the Teric gets a silver looking scratch on the Bezel it's just going to bug the heck out of you. It's not an issue when I am diving but would be an issue if I was wearing it at work or out somewhere.
