depending on your dive location, just make your safety stop as long as possible. I can;t count how many 20min "safety" stops I've done. if your wall or shore diving, there is always something interesting to see at 15'. as </= 15' doesn't count toward your total N2 times, why not just hang out...

if your computer fails because the batt goes dead it's your fault. I swap mine out when ever I catch them even close to low. over 1500hrs + (very conservative estimation) of Scuba and Freediving on 3 computers (Cobra, Vyper, & D3) and never a hiccup. I'll take those odds.

you have some fancy bubble-less exhaust system on your second stage? always have the option of shooting a bag for a mid-water assent...

like other posters I'm a huge fan of a simple SPG & a wrist mounted computer (Suunto Vyper) I've never had a computer crash on me during a dive, but if I did, I would abort the dive and make a safe slow assent (you don't need a Depth Gauge for this)

spent all my red sea time out of Jeddah & Yanbu, a lot of my friends dove the banks, sadly I always missed the trips, but their photos and reports were jaw dropping. it's still #1 on my "Places I need to dive" list though.

very interested in this cam, if the fuzziness issue can be cleared up, it would be the perfect guncam for the freedive spearo. low profile and streamlined.... kind of an oxymoron isn't it?

I sling an AL30 rigged like a DIR stage. it's very easy to manage any possible entanglements in this location, and gives you total comfort and an unrushed accent from any recreational depth with a 15' stop. some might argue it's to large, but rigged this way it is hardly noticeable

When i solo dive (99% of my dives) I take the exact same gear as I would if I was buddy diving, with the exception of my Octopus, which is removed, and replaced with a AL30 DIR stage rigged. I find stage bottle rigging grants me the same redundancy as a pony, but make it far easier to manage...
