    Physics question - possible mythbuster?

Not acid but caustic is added to make the distilled water very very basic then a 50 VDC voltage is applied and the current is increased to 1050 amps and presto high pressure 02 is produced.....we called the O2 generators "bombs" for short......go figure..... M

    Physics question - possible mythbuster?

Well on the USS Henry M. Jackson SSBN 730.....oxygen comes from this Treadwell History through the electrolysis of distilled water that comes from seawater via this.... Submarine Distilling Systems - Chapter 1 The 02 is stored in large high pressure tank banks and bled into the...

I dont check my bags - how to get knife there?

With shears or a z-knife it is hit or miss, just depends on how the screeners are interpreting the rules that day.....in my opinion not worth the risk or the hassle.... Checking a bag also allows for bringing liquids greater than 3.4 oz such as sunscreen and saline solution for the family (2...

    Travel BC vs standard BC

I agree that diving what you know and are comfortable with makes sense..... However, a Ranger LTD seems like a lot of BCD for warm water diving.....the website says dry wight is almost 10 lbs, 44 lb wing and, twin tank capacity and carry 30 lbs of lead.....a lot of BC... My warm water...

I dont check my bags - how to get knife there?

To the OP....I would just check a small bag with the knife and other "extra" stuff, such as an extra mask, tools, extra reg, second sunglasses, shoes and clothes..... That way if the bag is lost or delayed it is not a deal breaker, you still have all your critical stuff with you..... For...

    redundant air gauge

I dive two computers none are AI....but I have backup depth, NDL and time.... As far as air, a backup gauge can't hurt - but if your computer dies you are ending the dive and heading topside right away.....so a backup time piece is more critical.....I think..... I would also look at Dive...

    BP/W Suggestions...

All the posts seem to favor a simple hog web rig..... I on the other hand went from that to a Dive Rite Transplate harness for my cold water rig and prefer it...... Two reasons - I switch between a 7 mil, 7 mil with hooded vest, drysuit with light undergarments to drysuit with heavy...

    gauge and computer

I don't dive AI.... But I dive two computers one on each wrist, both Suuntos with the same deco algorithm... For tank pressure I have a simple SPG.... Wrist mounting as it is easier by glancing down so I can check depth, NDL and dive time which I look at much more frequently than air...

Do you need different equipment if you want to go cold-water scuba diving?

So we did two dives last Saturday...... Water temp was 41 degrees and air temp was 26 degrees...... We had one try it wet.......that person lasted 20 minutes on the first dive and did not make the second.....but did do the first half of the first dive...... I think that once you get...
