that's a not a prusik.... it's a cow hitch or luggage tag knot. A prusik has three turns usually used by climbers on a standing end of rope when you want to the knot to slide (or not slide) along the rope. Just nitpicking again... Sorry...the sailor in me can't help it!:acclaim:
You want to freak them out? Put a couple of pounds of sea pearl bag lead weights in your carry on.
I used to put them in my checked bag but they wound rampaging through it trying to figure out what it was.
not to nitpick, but a bowline is NOT a permanent knot, and will easily come undone if not under load (like maybe when the flag is floating in no current on a slack line) especially on a polypropylene rope.

I think you're right! The argument that an OOA diver is going to make a run for the regulator in your mouth has merit and there is ample anecdotal evidence from scubaboard users that that is the case. However, I havent heard any defense of a long hose setup in an non overhead environment.
