    Cozumel Dive Shop?

Of course it's a "good idea" and not just for diving. It's just that lack of proper hydration is not the primary cause of DCS; that award goes to depth/time combos. Call DAN immediately, and ask them. We're obviously gonna make this personal, early March.

If you knew then what you know now... (Carnaval)

It's actually become kind of a regular thing... cold beer, good botanas (found a place that serves LOBSTERS) and an all around good way to practice some spanglish!

    DAN Membership in Mexico

Dance nut, fun gal, and the best source of info on DAN, its programs and insurance and what's good where and when. Much better to go to the source... in this case, the OP received some incredibly poor advice on this forum; I'm glad she chose to just call DAN!

I'm also a fan of doing the cantina crawl, in the costume to get to the parade. Like mstevens says, it can be a mess driving and parking, but if you're walking, or riding your bike in big clown shoes, you'll be fine. You'll also get lots of spanish lessons, and some good old fashioned fun.

    Cozumel Dive Shop?

The term is "cold water immersion diaresis" and while keeping warm would affect this, there is also (as noted above) a pressure component, in that the hydrostatic pressure causes an increase in blood pressure. So proper exposure protection will help, but some of us still gotta go. And while...

If you knew then what you know now... (Carnaval)

Be prepared to participate. Get a mask, or a costume, or both. Have one too many beers, if you're a beer-loving person. Dance in the parade! There are so many opportunities to actually get in it, in an informal way. the groups who are dancing on the street (i.e. not on a float) are always...

    Worst of Cozumel.

When I did my marine park course, there was a brainstorming session about how to improve the diving and dive sites in general. This was suggested, and then shot down by all the operators in attendance as something that "just won't work." There is an unfortunate lack of wanting to work together...

Update on my kiddo wanting to be PADI certified at barely 11…….CERTIFIED NOW :)

When you open a reply window, over on the right side at the top is an "insert image" button. On this Quick Reply screen it's the third one from the right. Click on that, attache your photo, and voila. :-)

btwn dives, do you leave your camera latched up in its housing?

OP is talking about a camera with wireless capabilities, and asking about "after each dive day." It's an interesting question - which WOULD flood first? Depends on the o-ring, probably, and whether it is more likely to fail due to constantly being "squished" in its proper place (in the camera...

    barracuda attack august 5

I find it somewhat amusing that we're worrying about barracudas to the point of putting our shiny bits inside our wetsuit, but are okay with the feeding of nurse sharks here on the island.

    Chac Mool vs. Dos Ojos?

The halocline in Chac Mool can be offputting if you don't like that sort of thing. This one would be my preference based on the popularity of Dos Ojos... potentially less divers in Chac Mool.

    Calgarian suing diver training organization

I did. My point being that even in the case where a training course does involve extensive information about why you should and how to verify the contents of your tank, many people choose to disregard that information once they're certified. kari
