Blank notebook for me. I keep track of dive number, date, site, exposure protection, weight, water temp and gas mixture. Then some notes. Blank book allows me to embellish (with photos or drawings) or not, in the event that I'm just taking info from my computer and have no notes to make.

It's not a matter of being "more conservative" - it's simply a matter of following standards. PADI has standards for an instructor to follow when receiving a referral from another agency, and those standards require that the student complete the skills assessment and OW final exam before moving...

Ditto this. "Dive was uneventful." appears a lot in my book, or if there ARE any issues, I capture those too, so I (hopefully) have enough info to recall a particular situation.

What kind of critters are you looking for? If you can be specific about what you're hoping to see, most DMs in Cozumel would likely be able to assist you. If you can't be specific, trying to narrow it down even a little will help. kari

Aircon in the cottages when power was available, which was from about 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Which, with a three dive per day schedule, really just meant "when you're out diving, the A/C is off in your room." We loved it there.
