    Regulator Free Flow

    I haven't used it myself, but some divers attach an inline shutoff to to their regulator for this scenario. The idea is to always start with it in the open position (so that your primary and alternate second stages behave normally), while giving a fallback option to quash persistent freeflows. I...

    Oceanic Veo 2.0 won't turn off (well after no-fly)

    The only scenario I've ever heard of this occurring, is when the activation sensor remains wet... in which case, everything should go back to normal once it finally dries out. You might be able to hasten the process by blowing out the sensor area with compressed air, like from one of the...

    Oceanic VT4.1 backlight

    Yeah, I was coming to more-or-less the same conclusion... low battery definitely seems like the most likely culprit. It's a bit weird that the device hasn't displayed the low battery indicator, but I can see that happening if it's teetering just on the low voltage threshold. And receiving the...

    Carbon Monoxide Detectors?

    These are awesome! The only thing I didn't like about it is that the stock carrying case doesn't appear to be waterproof... transplanted mine into a Pelican 1120, and all's right with the world. (-;

    Oceanic VT4.1 backlight

    I've got an Oceanic VT4.1 which was purchased new 5-6 months ago. While I really like it overall, one recurring issue is that the backlight (triggered by pressing the Select button) sometimes stops working mid-dive. When this occurs I can never invoke it again for the remainder of the day (even...

    Master.........Really?

    This might actually have been the most interesting and informative post in the entire thread. Thanx @boulderjohn! (-;

    Sick - only during dive?

    On that note, I'd recommend taking a look at the cootwo. My understanding is that it's the only integrated oxygen / carbon monoxide analyzer currently available.

    Lavacore shirt & pants vs jumpsuit

    Thanx everyone! I ended up going with the 2-piece Lavacore option, paired with an Akona 5mm wetsuit.

    Lavacore shirt & pants vs jumpsuit

    Definitely interesting, but I think it's a bit out of my price range. In addition, for that amount I'd want to be able to rent one and try it out beforehand. Finally, I think I'd be concerned about potentially flooding the battery chamber if the seal failed (probably not too likely in practice...

    Lavacore shirt & pants vs jumpsuit

    Thanx @seeker242 and @sheeper! It sounds like the issue isn't near as bad as I'd feared, so I'll most likely opt for the 2-piece set. I appreciate your help! (-;

    Lavacore shirt & pants vs jumpsuit

    I'm strongly considering either a Lavacore shirt & pants combo or jumpsuit, in order to supplement a 5mm wetsuit... trying to avoid the additional buoyancy hit of a 7mm wetsuit, and for the time being a decent dry suit is way out of the budget. I was initially leaning toward the shirt & pants...

    What is an Octo?

    Not that it matters, but I absolutely hate the designation of octopus for an alternate second stage. If anything in the kit can plausibly be described as "resembling an octopus", it would have to be the first stage (for reasons which should be fairly obvious). In other news, er... get off my...

    Any feedback from a Cootwo user?

    I've only used mine a handful of times, but it seems to work quite well. (-;

    O2 + CO analyzer choices.

    Turns out that my original link for the Air2 adapter (model number SCAD-11) was correct after all. Your mileage may vary if you have an oversized hose designed for something other than an Air2, of course.

    O2 + CO analyzer choices.

    True, but I already have one of those adapters and am 99% certain that I verified that it fit the standard inflator and Air2 hose when it was first acquired. I'll report back tonight (after I get home), and let folks know if it was correct or not. I started second guessing myself after the...

    Yeah, that's the one. D'oh!!! EDIT: Turns out that my original link was correct as well.

    O2 + CO analyzer choices.

    I probably won't have a chance to try the BC/LP adapter for about a week and a half. For what it's worth, I agree that it's a very nice touch. (-; ---------- Post added December 16th, 2015 at 12:21 AM ---------- It probably goes without saying, but... For those of us who have regulators setup...

    O2 + CO analyzer choices.

    Arrived today, and an initial runthrough via the My Nitroxbuddy app looks very promising. :) Will probably stop by my LDS in a day or so, and see if they'll let me analyze a few tanks (they have some set aside for the Nitrox exam) in order to familiarize myself with the process before using it...

    Enhanced air...does it help fatigue?

    I haven't noticed a bit of difference in fatigue level, between dives using ordinary air vs nitrox. Can't speak for anyone else, naturally.
