Your imagination is 100% correct.
It means mucking around on the bottom for the micro critters, searching amongst the diapers, condoms, and huge amounts of other trash that is common on the ocean bottom in these areas.
The photos are great but it's so utterly disgusting to "muck" dive in places...
Wow. Where to begin?
I'll just say that I think you have a very flawed understanding of your problem. I would stop trying to diagnose myself and see a licensed physician.
There are DOT requirements for transporting compressed gas cylinders on commercial vehicles. Check with you moving company. It would be best if you could dump the pressure down to 200 p.s.i. and ship them intact.
Otherwise the valves will have to be removed. Screw a plastic plug into the...
There was once a time when I safely traveled around North Africa, from Kenya, through Somalia, Egypt, and across to Morocco. Tunisia was my favorite. The beaches in Libya and Egypt in the border area are some of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Though I like tropical beaches with...
Too funny! LOL
I traveled extensively in that region back 30-40 years ago, as a tourist and combat soldier.
A few years ago, I went rock climbing for 3 weeks just east of Aqaba on the Red Sea. I had a Bedouin guide who trained in classic French Alp technique. We lived in Bedouin camps and...
We did a private 11-day LOB in the Banda Sea in Oct 2023. We were with a group of very experienced world divers and dive masters, looking for schools of hammerheads. Every dive was a search for hammerheads.

Quite simple.
While diving, make friends with people you like.
Share contact information.
Plan a dive trip together.
Make more friends on that dive trip.
Repeat.
Take up cave diving. You'll get plenty of diving in darkness.
There are literally thousands of resorts with good night diving. I've stayed at many resorts with great night diving, and I've done a couple hundred solo night dives at these resorts.
There is infinitely more opportunity for night...
I had a Nitrox stick and a bank of bottles I filled with EAN32. I kept the lines clean since I had EAN32 at 4,500 PSI. I tore down all the lines, valves, gauges, etc. Ultrasonic cleaning to O2 standards. Fresh o-rings. Then I got an air quality analysis. Also checked CO levels with every fill.
I had a personal compressor and gas mixing station, but I operated it like a commercial shop as far as QA is concerned. I did an annual tear down and deep cleaning, and did air quality testing afterwards.
