I'm not sure its quite as clear cut as that dennis - the orca in those pictures are from a specialist fish-eating pod. I believe the consensus is that whilst it should be safe diving with orca who usually take marine mammals entails some risk.
This is an area thats interesting me a bit at the moment. Conservationists and animal rights groups tend to get lumped together in a sort of bunny-hugging supergroup collective by the media. More frequently these two positions are starting to become opposing ones due to problems with, for...
That's fair. My own thoughts on this are that tag and release shark fishing is very good because in the same way as shark feeds they put an ongoing value on sharks to the local community and therefore the incentive to make a quick buck, or allow someone else to make a quick buck, by finning them...
I think to the extent either measure is useful (which is not very) dives is more useful than time. I say this because conditions will be (slightly) different on each dive, more or less current/warmth/terrain etc so the experience level is potentially increased more by say having 1 1 hour dive...
fwiw I'm far from comfortable with this tournament (although more concerned still about the bigger picture) as I set out in the excellent forum-generated first thread on the tournament and I'm not impressed with the line of argument or multiple posting so I'm not sure how anyone else is supposed...
I'd go with a Narcine sp. on body shape as opposed to Torpedo which from what I've seen have a squarer nose. Think Jenny must be right therefore on a process of elimination. Lovely patterned little chap whatever it is.

You can't see it but hte ray is actually hiding under a huge table coral (well I was under there with him!) and somehow thats blocked the light to bits of the picture but flukily not the ray.
I seem to recall reading that can trigger a sudden "death spawn" leading to more babies. They definitely regenerate if cut into pieces. In the Philippines I know they collected them and literally removed the whole animal from the reef as a means of control.
actually I was, I think, the first to mention tank weights on this thread and I was referring to something other than weights on a cam band. In South Africa I used these really nice long thin tube weights that mounted in clusters around the tank and spread the weight all along your back in a...
OK - my turn. First the excuses. if it looks a bit messy/unbalanced it is. I'm in the process of switching from the nasty generic tray I got in singapore with locline arm to my ultralight. In fact I went shopping today but they didn't have the double tray extender piece and I'm going to have to...
