Golf Ball Diving in the North East

Let me know if you need someone in Maine. I could use a few extra bucks.

    Northern CT Charters?

I was on the NOAA Ship that performed those surveys in 2001. Most of the wrecks that were found were newer, fiberglass "relics" and garbage. There are a few very historic wrecks between Port Jeff and Bridgeport, though. Don't be down on running a sonar towfish into something. Try running one...

    ATTN. SADIES MOM!! (need help)

What kind of dog is it? If it's a Great Dane or some real dog, just be nice and clean it up for her. If it's one of those yappy footballs with fur, march down there, rip her head off (verbally), and punt that ankle-biter through the uprights. Tell her she needs to decide whether she's going to...

    Zebras in MA?

I can't imagine how there wouldn't be zebras, even on a small scale, in some lakes in NE. Especially when watersheds nearby have them. I've heard that they're not as abundant in the St. Lawrence as they had been a few years ago.

as always Diver's Cove shows incredible customer service!

When I lived in New London, Ed's was the place to go. Luckily, I worked not to far from his shop. My favorite shop of all time, no doubt.

My experience with North Atlantic Scuba in Marshfield

Matt, You are totally justified in your response to your poor customer service experience. Money is time and my time is more valuable than rude service. Here in Maine, word of mouth is the way a business sinks or swims. I don't think it's just in Maine, though. If you are looking for a...

any info on moosehead lake (Maine) dive spots?

Contact Gene at All Resource Divers in Sebec. I think he runs trips up to Moosehead occasionally.

You Know You're From Connecticut When...

Upset at anyone who can't drive in the snow? I lived in CT for awhile and I determined that anyone with a CT plate couldn't drive at all...

Wetsuit for 1,000 Islands next week?

Try your 7 mil, just in case. You should be okay with the smaller suit but why risk it? I'm envious, I'd love to be heading back. You should dive the Vickery off of Fisher's Landing.

    Your favorite dive spots

Eastport pier is great. Also, Schoodic Lake in Maine is great. There's a lot of old piers and fish hanging around them if you go to the Lakeview end. Best thing is that it is a dive that anyone can do and you can get a lot of depth if you want. And it's never crowded.

    Fall Philly Trip

There's some interesting quarry diving in Bethlehem (Dutch Springs) and Willow Springs, but they're a trip from Philly. Depending on when in the fall you're headed to Jersey, they might not be drysuit dives. I've been swimming in the ocean in early October and the surface temps have been near...

    Geographically Challenged?

Also, let us not forget that Virginia originally claimed the area around Pittsburgh. Too bad they didn't leave it that way. Let's face it, west of the Susquehanna, with the exception of State College, is really Northern West Virginia or Eastern Ohio.

Maine Diving- week of August 17th..?

I don't know of any groups but I wouldn't mind doing some diving. I don't think I can make it next week, though. Do you have a day in mind?

    Sunken City in West Virginia

I've heard rumor of a town at the bottom of Lake Walllenpaupack outside of Scranton, PA. Anyone know if it's true?

Diving in Eastern and Central Maine

The easiest dive site is the old pier. It is directly in front of the Motel East. Once you get to Eastport, there are signs directing you to the Motel East. If you veer to the left near the Waco Diner, you'll find a dirt road that leads to site of the old pier. There is a stony beach, covered...

Maine: Camden, Rockland & Lincolnville Divers?

I wouldn't mind doing a few shore dives. I'm in Milo but I can make it to Lincolnville. Let me know.

    KeyStorm & America

Try the A.E. Vickery as a warm-up if you have time. The current on the way down is incredible but almost non-existent on the deck. I've dealt with Hunt's in the past and they've always been pretty good.

    Diving At Avery Point?

When I lived in the area, I dove there once with a friend who was looking for lobsters. Need i quote from Spaceballs when I say, "We ain't found sh_ _". It was a rather uninteresting dive as we kept going round in circles because my buddy seemed to have no sense of direction and didn't use a...

    Diving At Avery Point?

I went there years ago and I was disappointed that I couldn't get much depth. Is Avery Point the one across from the Power Plant? That's the one I couldn't get much depth on. I felt the same way about Stonington. Not bad dive sites for getting in and looking around.

    Hi everyone. Anyone from Pennsylvania?

Yuengling is great, Pittsburgh is not. I agree that everything west of State College is either Northern West Virginia or Eastern Ohio. I am no longer from PA and glad. I got certified at Willow Springs and I've always enjoyed it more than Dutch. Dutch always seemed overcrowded and vis was rarely...
