    stupid question -breitling watches

My Omega Seamaster fogged up. I had some round about with the watchmaker that had recently serviced it and pressure tested it. He insisted I must have left the crown open and that it was still testing good. We discussed other ways it could have gotten water into it and he gave me an article...

Triple-L, Huge Price Increase in the wetsuit-27%

The market is only free and competitive if the people are free. The low cost of labor in communist or former communist countries is not due to a true competition, but only government opression. The choices you make with your money now WILL affect your children's future and possibly your...

Scuba tanks messed up my car

Springs should be fine, They are not going to wear out. OEM shocks and struts on the other hand are often junk and could well be shot even with fairly low mileage. There are several ways to check your shocks. Most involve bouncing the car and seeing how quickly and if it returns to a neutral...

    Sdm 2.0.1

It's rubbish, I've gotten a dozen access violations and SQL errors in less than half an hour of using it. Totally half baked.

Newbie question RE "How Deep do you Dive Poll"- How deep SHOULD I dive?

I'm a pretty new diver, but I'll say you're over your head. Here's why: You didn't follow you're plan and you didn't look at your depth gauge on the way down. There should have been no surprises, you should have given the level off sign at 85ft and made it clear you sticking to the plan. You...

    Overdue hydros?

Yes, and when DOT says "transport", they mean commercially. So you can even haul them around in your minivan as long as you aren't paid to do so.

    Sinking BCD

That's easily believable. An E7-65 is -6.5lbs full and a reg with console could be another 2 or 3 lbs That's almost half the lift capacity before you throw in integrated weights. 8-10lbs for a beginning woman in a wetsuit would be average, so now you've sunk the BCD once you remove it from the...

    Zeagle - Made in USA?

Yes, but anything of foreign origin must be labeled "Made in China" (or wherever...) So the rare item with no markings is most likely of US origin. My Zeagle BCD not only has a US flag, but the mfg tag inside says Made in USA, thus it must meet the regulations for an "unqualified claim"...

    Zeagle - Made in USA?

The FTC is quite specific about the requirements to claim Made in the USA. A significant amout of the material and manufacturing costs must be incurred in the US. Made in USA

    Sdm 2.0.1

I hope they improve the simulation inteface. Having to manually enter every single datapoint is ridiculous. It would also be nice if it would quit asking me if I want to save when I click the cancel button. Duh, I didn't want to save, that's why I clicked cancel.

    Going Down (In a hurry)

A is OW and B is a DM. They're going to be buddies in FL. I don't think they'll be dive bombing, but they need to get down the line promptly. A is pokey by nature. Neither of us had a problem stopping where the line tied to sailboat rail which was about 10ft above the bottom. It just took a...

    Going Down (In a hurry)

So friend A is going to dive some recreational depth wrecks (100ft) in FL next month with friend B who live in Rhode Island and is a DM. She says there are some currents and the local DMs like to get to the wreck quickly. I'm a bit more experienced than friend A, so friend B asked me to work...

    Reg repair fiasco (RANT)

What's the standard QA procedure for regulator servicing and repair? When I was in aviation, everything that was safety of flight had to be signed off by at least two people.

It is not very sporting to shoot the sharks where they hang out peacefully to sleep. IMO, This snorkel spearo is a sick bas*ard.

    C4 eLED vs C8 eLED

Cool, I was thinking it was unregulated for anything above the "low" setting and I'd be taking a 20% hit on "high" vs. the alkalines. Now I won't mind using my NiMH batteries so much. What about 54 AAAA? :-)

If you broke a low pressure hose?

Breaking at the threads could mean it was over torqued during assembly. The hose to regulator torques are only supposed to be slightly past hand tight.

Using a tank to power an airbrush...

Do you like the VL? I'd tried to use one in vain and hated it. I changed to Iwatas and have loved airbrushing ever since. Also, www.dixieart.com has a good variety of airbrush fittings and adapters.

    C4 eLED vs C8 eLED

For what it's worth, my C8 loaded with NiMH C cells is quite a bit lighter than full of alkalines. The bright settings won't be quite as bright since NiMH only put out 1.2V vs. 1.5V for alkaline.
