    safety stop..how deep?

So let me get this straight, you can take nice deep slow breaths at 10 and 20ft and not change your position in the water column. Wow, that defies the laws of physics, you guys must be gods.

    Surface Interval

My preference is to get back to the A group on the PADI RDP. Easy to plan for lake shore dives, more problematic on boats.

    Air2 or Octo

I think a 7 foot hose is great in a cave. Now with that settled, let me assure you I'm going nowhere near an underwater cavern. I've got a Atomic SS1 and it works just fine. I've breathed off it and practiced surfaced while doing so and didn't rocket to the surface. Now I don't wear more...

    Should I get certified?

water coming in through the regulator is not normal. You shouldn't have to put up with that. You should be able to dive for an hour and ingest zero seawater.

How do you configure your gear?

In my opinion, BC pockets suck and you should only put stuff in them you don't need on a regular basis. I have a Zeagle Brigade BC. Safety Sausage: lower right D ring "Storm" Whistle: mid right D ring BC Dive Knife: commando style on right shoulder strap with tether clipped to middle D ring...

    Diver Signaling Equipment...

They are glued back-to-back so that they can be aimed. Signal mirrors either have a glass bead or wire mesh center which creates a bright aiming spot or you must line up the light spot with the center hole on the back surface. It's hard to describe, you should really practice it in you front...

Bst way to store regulator between dives?

A set of hose protectors is a good idea too. Get the kind that fit really tightly on the hose that won't slide down and press them tightly against the 1st stage.

Octo/Safe Seconds - What I am considering - going overboard?

The Atomic SS1 is very breathable so there is no real need for a spare octo for yourself. Once you have a first failure, you're leaving anyway, right? As to buddies, I just tell them to take the regulator out of my mouth if they need it and I will worry about the rest. Several have grinned...

    How Dry is Dry?

What about the drysuit Arnold used in True Lies where he wore a tuxedo underneath? Of course he was diving under ice, so maybe he wasn't sweating much....

The Boss must be happy with us.

Well, I'm just asking. When I was in the Navy, I got a "promotion" but I didn't get a pay raise to go with it for 9 months. Some bosses think it increases your self esteem to give you a better title, but are too stingy to back it up with some extra bucks.

Does a promotion include more money or just a stripe?

How deep would you go to save someone..

I think what he means is that they want one parent alive to raise the daughter, so they would not endanger both parents at the same time. If it was the daughter sinking, it wouldn't matter since if she didn't get rescued she wouldn't be alive to raised by the remaining parent.
