I'm flying out to San Juan in the morning and will be there several days before getting on the Celebrity Summit. I've looked for a dive shop that will rent tanks/weight for three of us to do a shore dive but have come up empty. We have several options for guided dives. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'll be on a cruise out of Puerto Rico on Jan. 3. We'll be stopping in Dominica, Barbados, St. Maarten, Grenada, and Tobago. I was thinking about just packing my 2 mil shorty but from what I'm reading I might need one of my full wetsuits. Anyone think a full 3 mil will do the job? Thanks.

My Amer-Sea console has done a great job until several weeks ago at Gilboa. There was a leak in the fitting where the hp hose connected into the first stage. I switched to another reg for the day and looked at the fitting when I got home that night. The leak was between the two end fitting...

I dive two tanks with Y valves. I like the idea of having two complete regs. just in case. I don't know if there are any current manufacturers. The H valve seems to be the new model.

Hey Rich - Is there anyway you could get a special permit for the GLWC to camp next to the quarry for a weekend? I would think the park district would want our business during the non-peak dive months.

Congratulations! Hope to meet you at the quarries. My son and daughter-in-law were just certified at Gilboa last week through Huron Scuba in Ann Arbor. We're looking forward to some weekend diving this summer.

Are wings and backplates compatible across manufacturers? For instance, will DSS wings fit on Halcyon or OMS backplates? Thanks.

I've received excellent training through the YMCA (OW, AOW, & SLAM Rescue). The Y also permits you to receive a CMAS card. I was told CMAS may have more recognition overseas. My Y card has been accepted throughout the caribbean but I've always taken my CMAS card just in case.
