What is your beer of choice?

Now that calls for a comparison to horse urine. Gin has to be the most vile stuff to drink, even if it is diluted with tonic water.

PADI OW diver - depth limits?

Well, if you dig into the standards and knowledge reviews it is interesting to see how PADI makes a couple of statements. OW Course Knowledge Review Section four 9. Match the following by placing the correct letter in the blank. a. Maximum depth limit for Open Water Divers. c. Maximum depth...

To DM or not to DM that is the question

There is really no need to obtain additional certifications if your aim is to further your education. There are many resources available that do not require anyone to sign up for another c-card type course. For example, my wife and I took a seminar type course with a naturalist to further our...

    Euro 2008

I think that you have misread the rules. The rules you refer to are for the qualifying competition. The rules for the final tournament are available through the Euro 2008 website. Go to the "matches" page and follow the link to the .pdf file for the rules. Specifically see rule 7.07...

    Euro 2008

I suggest that this time is different considering the injuries to two of France's key players. No team deserves to advance based on their reputation. At this point in the competition they all must realize that every match is the most important one.

What do you have on your wall?

I have a very nice photo of my wife staring intently at a seahorse. The seahorse is in the foreground and she is behind it. 8x10 hanging on our wall. The color is much better in the print than when viewing it on screen. I also had an enlargement made to 18x24 of a trumpetfish hiding in coral...

    Euro 2008

The officiating is poor. The players dive too much. The pitch is in poor condition. The new ball is slippery and hard to control. I wonder what the magic elixier is in the trainer's bottle that they spray on the players legs to make them recover from the awful injury so quickly. OK...

    Question about PADI Dive Tables???

Larry, Every time I go to assist with an open water course, especially after a bit of time away (long winter here), I use your software. It is an excellent teaching and review tool. Thanks for keeping this as free for SB members.

    New rules for complaints...

Is this US currency? Can we substitute another currency? That way we have more or less space (depending on the exchange rate) on all of those bills that equal $20. Alternately, can we offer a trade in hot air internet fills for a response?

    Question about PADI Dive Tables???

Got My DM - But I Don't Want to Dive "This Way"...

Bob, as you referred to in a different thread....we are getting to the point where the hot air is giving short fills. The LDS a DM works for should set their expectations based on the agency's standards, their approach to business, and the reputation they want to present/maintain. If they are...

    Dive Shop Loyalty

After reading this thread and numerous others like it, I have come to the conclusion that it is possible to get air from the internet. Hot air abounds on SB. Too bad you can't fill your tanks with it.:D Loyalty, like respect, must be earned. Even then it can be "unearned" through actions...

    Suspended Course Director

I suggest that your analogy is misplaced. I was a chief instructor at a flight school in the military and was far from flag rank. Part of my responsibility was to ensure that the instructors on our staff were trained well, that they had the qualities to be an instructor, and that they maintained...

How much is gas in your area?

I filled up this morning. There is a plan to doing this right. It appears that prices rise on Friday and drop again on Tuesday. It may only be a few cents a litre, but with the way things work now it pi$$e$ me off to have to pay more on the weekend. $1.218 per litre = $4.62 Cdn per gallon =...

    Bonaire Truck Rental & Insurance

Take photos with your cell phone camera if you have one. You then have a set of images to use as reference. I have used this approach (not in Bonaire though) before and it saved me some hassle when the vehicle was inspected upon return.
