I suppose but unless I keep my setpoint at 1.6 for the entire deco, the advantage on my Shearwater is lost as soon as I go back to a setpoint of 1.3. Maybe it's a Shearwater thing algorithm thing, I don't know.
Going back to old school I let my PO2 degrade from the 1.6 at 70' back to 1.3 as i...
Does anyone do deep enough/long enough OC trimix dives to justify air breaks? I doubt it.
I do not do "air breaks" on my CCR. 1.3 setpoint. I might spike it to 1.6 at 70' for a bit. Old habits die hard.
So that's the second time you said you are done with this thread. History says that typically people stick around for at least three "I'm done. I'm out". You got one more.
You don't define what your goals are (deep wrecks, mexican caves, shallow reefs, getting an RB to impress my clientele. etc.) That will make a difference in recommendations.
However If the choice is between a Chop or a JJ (or a Meg) I would go with the JJ/Meg 100% of the time
Worrying about CNS clock is a total waste of time. People tox at 75%. People tox at 100% and a lot don't at 110%+. It's never been proven to have any scientific validity.
The owner of the shop I worked with at the time was the one who examined the gear for the inquest. So I heard about what was up directly from the guy who checked the tanks and compressor for the RCMP. Compressor also had no OPV. Because it happened in 1994 links are very few. I could only find...
August 1994. Waterton National Park in southern Alberta. Shop owner from Calgary died from plugged steels that were hooked up to a compressor, got over filled, and exploded.
There are a few more here on SB.
Where are you getting "My understanding" from? If it's from a dive shop then it's wrong.
I'm just telling you what actual analysis shows. Sorry if it doesn't align with what you think it should be.
Possible vs reality. I've done analysis on membrane generated O2. None those values have ever broken standards for Medical O2 here in Canada. I don't even remember them showing up in any appreciable numbers in the samples I've done.
I took a keg to Bikini in July in its' own bag. It wasn't a huge PITA as long as I had a cart. Once I got to Kwaj and had no cart, it definitely became huge hauling it around Ebeye. I paid $200CDN for the extra bag. Sorb cost me $160CDN. So $360CDN. The boat was charging $500US. So it was worth...
Those things are huge. I suppose if you need to jump start the dead battery on your Uboat they would be what you want.
I prefer Teledyne Impulse connectors. Same benefits as claimed by the above mentioned connectors in the ad but much smaller.
