    Evan Kovacs visits Oregon.

Thanks for the report! That's a lot of cool stuff and people you saw! What an opportunity.

I tasted the Kool Aide and it didnt agree with me

Correction: They Dove deep air back before Trimix was available to anyone but the military. And they all accomplished things underwater that I wager you will never approach. On air. Below 200 feet.

    OOA at 90 FFW...well kinda!!!

Good job handling the situation. Glad you came back topside to tell us about it! Seems like you drew the correct lessons from the experience, too. I don't like anybody but me messing with my valves, and I'm blessed with a good 3 dimensional sense of the old "Lefty-loosey, righty-tighty" thang...

Is Diving a Life Change for You?

Yep. Welcome home. This is where you belong.:D

    Skeleton found in diving gear

Most of us locals are pretty sure we know who the deceased is. They haven't announced an ID yet, but I'm pretty sure they will, soon.

How deep have you gone and why ?

Whoa. I always forget that commercial guys routinely work at depths us rec guys can't even contemplate.

I had about 100 dives- but that's just me. You're ready when you're ready.

    Scubapro MK25

Well, fwiw, I've been diving a MK25/600 for over a year now, and I can't even imagine overbreathing it.....flawless performance, down to 150'. I say take it to a tech, and have it serviced.

    Scuba Deaths

Yep. Guy playing Football or Rugby or something has a stroke or heart attack, they don't call it a "Rugby death." Same thing happens to a guy 90 feet down, it's a "Scuba death." I'm not saying it's not dangerous- it clearly is dangerous. But- in the last year, here around Seattle, I know of 2...

    A sticky wicket...

That's cool, and fair. I like diving with my buddies who I know, and trust, too. I know my SAC is higher when I dive with new instabuddies. I mean, I get it. I thought rule # 1 was "non- DIR divers?"

    USIA Techniflex Pics

Yeah- I had mine put in the normal spot- I didn't like the forearm location, either. Jerry will take care of you- send that puppy back!

    A sticky wicket...

I like you. May there be peace between our tribes, someday. Seriously, I lurk here a lot, and I bet many other non- DIR types do, too. I'm curious about how you people do things on the cube. I've made some friendly overtures with some local DIR types, and we're even talking about diving...

    A sticky wicket...

I'm not overhead trained or DIR, but I would swim to diver 1 and give him the turn around, "we're leaving now" signal, and then exit, looking to catch up with diver 1, so that I could beat him over the head with an empty tank once we were out of the water. Am I wrong? Or is this one of those "no...

    Analysis of a bad dive.

Wow- yeah, I feel for you. As several people have pointed out- change one thing at a time. Even stuff that seems simple on the surface can be suprisingly uncool once you go down- best to have only ONE thing to contend with, once you're diving. One of my worst dives involved a new drysuit, new...

    USIA Techniflex Pics

I've been diving mine for a couple months now, and I'm very happy with it. I've been meaning to post my glowing review w/ pics for a while, but I've been so friggen' busy with work and diving I haven't had time. Short version: Techniflex rocks, and for half what one of those other suits will...

Warm water v. cold water divers

I love 39 degree water and 2 foot vis. I'd miss it if I moved to HI. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'd love diving there, but I love diving here. I think it makes some tough divers, too.

Chosing the best wing for double steel HP120s?

I heartilly recommend GOLEM wings. They are incredibly tough, and function flawlessly.
