This is so funny.....me and a dive buddy were just laughing about how funny it would be to surface on a crowded beach, wearing a cammie drysuit,holding an old paintball gun or something, and start yelling into your dive computer about how the damn sub had dropped you at the wrong location again-

Not only do they have the manual online, but an excellent animated simulator that shows what the computer does as you dive, both in no deco and deco dives. The manual is a bit....overwhelming, at first glance.

I was nervous before my first hundred foot dive, and as a result, I got narced pretty good. I've been to 100' six times since then (I'm pretty new) and felt just fine each time. Just try to relax. Concentrate on the basics like air and buoyancy. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm curious, too, but I'll betcha it's the "overhead environment, no direct access to the surface" deal. What's the story, JeffG?

Yeah....our coast is beautifull, but not too shore-diving friendly, I'm thinking. Lotsa pointy rocks and giant floaty-smashy logs.

Sweet......this is my first time through one of these. I'll have to do a search and read through some of the other ones. And, yep, the mask on head thing is right there in my PADI OW text. Seems silly, 'cause there ARE other ways to spot a panicked diver, but I accepted it, and never do it.

At first I thought it was faked, too, but when you see the shark bumping into the guy's light.....I just don't think you could fake that without a tremendous amount of effort and tech.....The lack of sheer terror on the part of the diver makes me think it's not real, but maybe he was too stunned...

If it's a fake, it's a pretty impressive bit of work. Look at the shark bump against the photographers light before it swims away....I think it's real!
