    SDI here I come!!

Well, it's official, I have just become an official SDI instructor!! ;) Not without some slight humiliation brought upon myself. This was a very humbling experience too say the least. Even though I have a descent understanding of SCUBA and the physics/physiology involved, it is not as easy too...

Well, the written exam is done (95%) and the swim tests are complete.(both passed) The scuba ditch and don was a peice of cake, while the snorkle ditch and don was not so fun. Tomorrow is 2 class presentations, 2 confined presentations, and 2 ow presentations, all of which are not a real...

So, Sunday is the big day! I head to Hoods Port, Wash. for my SDI IDC, and on Thur-Fri my IEC. Hopefully, all will go well, and by this time next week I'll have passed my instructor course. SDI here I come!!

Hey Kris, Since you are in the stance of NO diving for SDI divers without a computer. What would your recomendation be for dealing with that circumstance from a training standpoint? I will be talking with the NW TDI/SDI rep within the next few weeks, maybe you have some suggestions that may make...

    SDI here I come!!

Thanks Rob, I'll do my best!! The swims are the things I've really got too work on. I've got a two week lay off since I had lasik on valentines day, but after that I'll be back at it!!!! Thanks again for the support, and I'll be working my hardest on making the swims in a respectable pace. Joe

    SDI here I come!!

I believe in the theory of using the computer instead of the tables. Less chance of computer malfunction than a new student making a mistake on repetative dives on a table. Also, I've been involved in both agencies training, and feel more comfortable with the SDI format. Also, with SDI/TDI you...

    Submitting paperwork!!!

Great job! Have a safe trip in Cozemel. Remember too keep your DM card hid unless you need it as a trump card. Don't bring any undo reasons for a lawsuit because you were a DM and should have known better. An advanced card should get you everything you'll need in a dive location. As a pro you...

    BSA Sea Base 2008

So, after reading the info you sent a link to, it seems SDI can qualify as a teaching agency but not able too lead dives? I was thinking of working with the scouts when I started my shop, but it will be a SDI shop, and apparently won't qualify unless it were a PADI or NAUI affiliated shop...

    Dry suits...Pee valves or Depends

I've ended many dives early because of having too relieve myself. They say too stay hydrated, but with that comes exhaust of said fluids. My OW instructor wore a diaper, but I was taught years ago not too pee myself. Also, not real keen on the idea of stewing in my own juices. Why not a p-valve...
