    Viking HDS 1000 for PSD's

More for comfort than anything else. They are cut like a PRO suit but have the strength of the HD which is cut to fit Spongebob, so less excess material. They also give you the flexibility of the more sporty suits as opposed to the stiffness of the normal Vikings. So I am told..., I just...

A Fusion for the Next Generation?

Is it really that big of a deal?? I never realized the colours were that bad. Now I'm tempted to try to get one just to drive my tech buddies crazy!!:)

A Fusion for the Next Generation?

So no pointed ear attachments to fit over my OTS comm earpieces?? I think the boss is going to make me stick with my SAR one.., at least until the "Buzz Lightyear" version comes out

A Fusion for the Next Generation?

I'd want a colour other than red though...., because if diving is the equivilent of beaming down ..., if your not Scotty and you have a red shirt you only get to beam down once and then you die. :) They look very cool..., and not a stretch for the Fusion (no pun intended)

    ?

C'mon Gary..., I know in real life curiosity didn't kill the proverbial cat, but it does make this cat smash his forehead repeatedly against the keyboard. What's up with April 30, 1986 at 0100?? I've been googling and the only thing I can find for April that year is Halley's Comet (which I did...

    Viking HDS 1000 for PSD's

We have several on the go right now. We've only had them since early March, but the guys who are using them really like them. Right now they prefer them to their HD and/or Pro they were using before.

    DUI CF200 Vs. Whites Fusion??

I use my Fusion to teach and train in swift water.., river rapids, safe swimming positions.. that sort of thing. A day on the river is like a year of diving for wear and tear. I was a bit skeptical at first that it would hold up...., but after some pretty agressive use, and I haven't babied it...

    ? on SSB-2010 users

We use the SSB-1001b model. We mount ours on the top tank strap. If when wearing a tank, your head is 12 o'clock, we wear it in the 9 o'clock position. Like you we didn't want it in front of us for the reasons you mentioned. Plus with being on the bottom chances are you are deeper than your...

My Fusion arrived - very excited

I dove the Fusion with Weezle Extremes and had no problem at all.... Actually did some swift water rescue swimming with lots of hard surface swimming.., the Weezles were not a problem

    Advanced Wreck Crossover Question

Your cross-over for your specialties is not automatic..., there are several ways to cross over for most specialties, but because you crossed over for one does not mean all your courses crossed over. Check your Instructor ratings on the SDI-TDI website and it'll tell you want you can and cannot...

full face mask and comm center

My recommendation is AGA with OTS coms in them. We have both hardwire and wireless set up as an AGA with OTS is compatible for both. My main reason.., one word - Dependability. With this being our only FFM/Comm system for years now, and with our program logging literally thousands of...

Why does SDI insist on teaching only Dive Computers?

... which is precisely why computer failure situations are presented to the class and how to deal with them. As far as 'what is going on in their body...' that is covered in the Physics and Physiology lectures..., along with being covered in the Section of the course that deals with the history...

Should FD divers hook up sub. cars

Like Blades said.., we'll hook and pull because we are in the water and wet anyway. We do the in-water investigation as a assistance to the local members. We seize the car, bring it to the surface and assist the officers in clearing the trunk, checking for evidence (I've never found a signed...

Eastern Canada Divers, Add your favorite dive spots to our directory!

There use to be one in Stephenville..., but I have not lived there in a while and don't know if it still open. If you find one and are heading towards Gros Morne.., you have to try to dive Gadds Point..., a 200+ foot vertical wall that starts in 30 feet of water

    Rivtow lion

Rivtow is a boat dive, it is near the shore of Newcastle Island in Departure Bay. While shallower than the other two wrecks in the area, my experience has been it is a little darker and poorer vis than Snake island. I'd go to the Saskatchewan first, dive the conning tower, spend some time...
