I have been making my own tray/arm sets for years. I use polypropylene drain pipe. The stuff you install under a sink. The joints slip can rotate which lets you adjust angles. The tray is made from aluminum angle and plate sourced from hardware stores. I assemble the parts with aluminum...

The mask you refer to is made by IST and it is the Pro Ear Mask. There are a couple of models. They all feature ear cups with a double skirt which fit around your ears. Tubes run from the mask to each ear cup so you can equalize the space. I have used these masks for years and over 250...
I use a Pro Ear Mask. It has earcups which cover one's ears and keeps them dry whilst diving. BTW it truly does work. I once did a dive where I forgot to remove one of my over the ear hearing aids. Upon surfacing I thought everything seemed unnaturally loud.... the hearing aid survived the dive.
Searcaigh,
I have used Pro ear masks for years and a couple of hundred dives. The retaining band which crimps the tube to the connector on the mask skirt is brittle. It can beak which causes the tube to disconnect. I keep small zip ties with me and wrap the connector with silicone tape (one...
Quite the segue from diving to the Cumbres to Toltec Railroad. Wish I had seen this earlier since the fall runs on that railroad are spectacular. If you ever go ell them Popeye sent you.
I do not have any personal experience with Relex Smile treatment, though I have dealt with people who had lasik. A couple of things to consider about light and diving. Yes you will find yourself in low light conditions diving. However, most of what you will be looking at will be fairly close...
I use a large rolling duffel from Eagle Creek. Replaced the wheels once and patched a bit of wear with hot melt glue. I carry on my camera, housing, prescription masks and dive computers. For the most part, everything else can be rented. I cut down a lightweight closed cell backpacking...
You could try nasal hydration with something like NeilMed sinus rinse.

I found this helps with the dryness, gets my sinus system used to some water getting there, helps with colds and hay fever. I rarely use decongestants on dive trips.
You could also...
Thank you for this. I had no idea there so many algaes and that some have complex rigid structures.
My main thinking about algae at Bonaire was the filamentous red stuff that appears in splotchy patches out on the reefs. It does not seem to be doing the coral any good where it appears.
In February, while doing pool laps wearing my fins, I inadvertently put my Pro-Ear mask on over an over the ear hearing aid. 45 minutes after I started swimming it occurred to me that the pool area seemed loud. I then realized what I had done. My hearing aid survived. Don't do this in the...
This is what I have worn in Bonaire:
NRS Men's Kicker Remix Wetshoes | NRS
They used to make this with a felt sole, but discontinued it because of the felt could transfer invasives. About felt soles, these are harder and more cut or puncture resistant than rubber soles. They pick up sand and...
Due to continuing losses Olympus is selling its imaging division to another Japanese company. The say they will continue porduction, but who knows what will transpire. Bummer.
Breaking News - Olympus Imaging Business To Be Sold To JIP Inc
So sticking the cane into a sand bottom say in about 6ft. of water would not be acceptable? But carrying it with you on the the dive would be okay? I have thought of making a cane then sticking it in the sand as return marker, especially at night with a light mounted on it when diving away...
Isn't that dive site just south of Bari named Front Porch? The area was a resort which was hit hard by a storm in the late 1990's. The reef, such as it is, is more of a debris field. However, there are all sorts of crannies for critters. At the bottom of the slope, 90 feet or so, is a small...
