    NDL

If you are looking at your computer during the dive to find out how much NDL time you have left , what are you doing?? You are changing your plans underwater based on "up to date" new info you are seeing on your wrist (being a passenger). That is different than having a plan in your mind that...

    NDL

when your computer is "out of line". Would you know it? What if your computer doesn't agree with someone elses? Who's do you trust?? You've done one dive, and now your computer isn't working right; do you blow off your second dive because you really don't have a clue how long you can stay down...

    NDL

...your brain, or your wrist computer. If you are relying on your computer to tell you what to do, then you probably don't have confidence in your own skills regarding profiles and dive planning. Nobody is born knowing this stuff, but the longer you spend depending on your computer, the harder...

    Big Mistake

especially if you are diving air. An hour S.I. is minimum with 32 EANx, not air. I like an hour and a half S.I. when diving 32 EANx, you are not saddled with ridiculous short bottom times on repetitive dives if you give yourself a reasonable S.I. Put your Suunto in gauge mode and trust your...

i'm losing my other baby girl (dog) right now

...for your loss. I lost my beloved pet of 13 years over Thanksgiving holiday. It is really hard to go through, because our pets are loyal friends that only ask for our love (and a little food) in return. they depend on us and we on them. I think we depend on our pets more than they depend on...

    Vytec

is how my Vytec is set up. Nice big numbers, all the info I need right there on my wrist, including back gas pressure. The replaceable scratch protector on the front is a nice feature to have. I have no complaints with it.

    Mosquito No Gauge Mode?

I went to Suunto's website and read the instructions for the Mosquito. It does not have a gauge mode, it is unlike the Stinger or Vytec, in that sense. It will, according to Suunto, go into lock out for 48 hrs., if allowed to go longer than 5 minutes in freedive mode. That is funky! The Mosquito...

    Mosquito No Gauge Mode?

it switches from free to gauge mode and will keep track of time and depth for a complete dive. That's my understanding of it, at least.

would you wear a hood ?

At 66 degrees, that's tropical to me. My average diving temp. is about 48-52 degrees, so if I have a chance to dive without a hood ,I take it.

I just switched over to the blue gloves, and wanted to make sure before I posted info.

Review: Diving Concepts Crushed Neoprene Dry Gloves.

I have to admit(especially since UP let the cat out of the bag) that I have switched from the neoprene to the blue smurf gloves. the problem you allude to scubaroo, with the "sleeve" of neoprene not staying where it should: mine did that at first, but after a while it stopped being a problem...

    P weight (channel weight) idea

"form follows function" that's one of my favorite sayings. You still gotta look cool, though. However, if you have a buoy attached to your tank, color should be the least of your worries! :D :D

    drysuits and weights

...a 7 mil neoprene drysuit is about as buoyant as they come. try just wearing thin poly long underwear or a lycra dive skin under the suit. I had a suit like yours, and found that it had air pockets behind my knees, along my spine, under my armpits... , the 7 mil rubber just wouldn't conform...

High Performance Check Up System dry gloves?

I don't think DC makes their own gloves. they have a supplier for them. My neoprene gloves with the DC label, were made in China, I believe. Many offshore suppliers will sell similar products to different companies, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone offered gloves similar (or the same) to...

    Bungees????

water pressure will squeeze air out of a BC just as efficiently as bungee cord?? I think if you have a leak in your wing at depth, the air will be forced out whether you have bungees or not. Another urban scuba legend,IMO.:)

Get real! Can this be true?

I saw that thing being dragged through the streets and told my wife "we'll be seeing that on EBay soon" , With all the statues being knocked down, I'll hold out a while before I start bidding!;)

    Veytec in Gauge mode

the middle display, the big numbers, are minutes and seconds in dive mode (underwater) The Instruction Book covers it, if you can wade thru all the computer info. You can reset the middle timer by hitting the button, it will start over to time deco. The total runtime is still shown on the bottom...

    UWATEC or SUUNTO

being able to download(upload??) the dive info to your PC is nice. Looking at your dive profile in graphic form is educational, as well as fun. I use mine in gauge mode, so it's only as conservative as my mind.;)
