Suunto Vyper **SERIOUS BUG** in CNS O2 computation

Can't anyone say anything around here without being attacked? jamiei, it's good we have people around here like you to keep us all honest. You seem to be the one doing all the b^tching, dude. Give it a rest! You are clouding the waters with all your thrashing about, wa, wa, wa!!! You...

it will be fun. The vis is variable, the best I've seen in the past couple of weeks is about 12-15 ft.

Why Do I Still Have Salt Buildup???!!??

If all your gear is being dumped into a tub, flush the water out a couple of times. The water in the first soak becomes salty after you throw your gear in it, it is not fresh water anymore. Warm water helps, too.

Scubapro Shotgun 2 (twinvalve) Snorkel Question???????????

the scubapro shotgun 2 has a purge valve to drain the tube so it is easier to clear the remaining water left in the tube when you surface, but water will come in the top of the tube if it goes below the surface of the water. A dry snorkel, on the other hand, has a flap valve or a check ball or...

    DIR mask?

also keeps your mask from sinking real fast if you drop it; it will kind of hover, giving you time to grab it. they are also more comfortable,IMO.

    Where's the sin

I would think if someone was so tired that you had to cut them out of their harness, a second dive might be a little stupid to attempt! Thanks, now I know what those buckles are for: tired, out of shape people that can't get out of their own equipment after a dive. Interestingly enough...

    Where's the sin

You've actually played around with these buckles in cold water with gloves on? :D :D Do you ever dive in cold water? You are talking about Fastex side release buckles found on shoulder straps, right?

    Where's the sin

fastex buckles are real fun with gloves on!! We don't all dive in warm water with bare hands. If we had your race in cold water, I think you would lose; three pieces of webbing can be cut a lot faster with shears than someone in gloves trying to undo Fastex buckles, especially those smaller ones...

    ATX200 first stage

on my set up , both large ports are used. the long hose and back up reg utilize the big ports. If you get an extra set of hoses, the scenario often cited when discounting the use of the large ports(running around looking for a replacement hose on a boat 20 miles out to sea,etc...) will never...

    ATX200 first stage

With ATX 200's for doubles. Both of my caps point the same way so I can easily put them on my single 95's using a y valve, also. The hoses point straight down the way they should. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that is is a really good configuration.

Sampling Rates ie Suunto 20 secs- long?

The Vytec and Stinger can be set for 10 seconds, mine are. It will give you more detail when graphing your dives if you set the sampling rate to 10 seconds. That is for the memory. ERP is right about the actual sampling rate for the instrument, it is 1 second.

    Sewing webbing ?

A thimble makes the job a lot easier on the fingers; either the classic grandma type or a sailmakers, which straps onto your hand, positioning the "thimble" part in the palm of your hand for more pushing power.

    Sewing webbing ?

By hand works good, but won't look as good as a dialed in machine stitch, but with black webbing and black thread who will notice? Dialing in the sewing machine for heavy webbing might take longer than doing it by hand. I have used a heavy duty(not commercial) Singer machine for sewing both...

    PST LP80's Fill Pressure

...nothing will probably happen, but they(PST) were so snotty on the phone, with some lame logic to support their advertising the overfill capacity of the tank, while stating the std. fill pressure; that I couldn't let it go. ;)

    PST LP80's Fill Pressure

is hiding behind some kind of DOT red tape that they say allows them to say the overfill capacity, but with the non overfill pressure in their advertising. Personally, I have contacted the Attorney General in Wa. state and am going to file a complaint, based on false advertising. At 3000 psi...

    Long-hose in contact rescue

why anyone would put themselves in a position to be grabbed on purpose. Panicing swimmers(and divers) should be approached from behind, or turned around underwater, so they can't grab you(something all panicing swimmers do!) If I was approaching from the front, in view of the victim, I would...

    PST LP80's Fill Pressure

truth in advertising! They are misleading with their advertising. If something says LP 80 c.f., 2400 psi; that's what you would expect it to be. At least they responded to your E-mail, I sent an inquiry to them a month ago, with no response. I was told by the guys at 5th D that the tank was 80...

    PST LP80's Fill Pressure

are great, and affordable. I put a pair together for doubles work, and like them. I usually have about 3300 psi when I hit the water. That's one of the nice things about the steel lp's, at 3300 psi I've got over 200 c.f. of gas available with some fairly small tanks. According to their...
