    Missouri Cave Diving

There is a shop in Waynesville called Odessey Scuba, phone 573-336-8684. I'm not sure if they keep regular hours or not. If possible, take all the gas you need with you. The links I posted should contain a pretty good description of the layout. Big nice cavern, about 400' of shallow tunnel...

    Missouri Cave Diving

I posted you a few links in the other thread (Muck Divers). MikeF pretty well covered the importand info. All things considered, I'd pick RBD for a first MO cave dive. MHO MikeF: Did you get the PM I sent you from DecoStop about a week ago????

    cave trip

Cave buddies are a little harder to find than regular dive buddies, but you can do it. As already mentioned, check the CDF; also keep an eye on this section of this board and also the DecoStop. Local contacts may be your best bet. I'll bet there's a few cave divers around Chattanooga. Ask...

    New Apeks question

Have you actually tried the DIN with converter in the water on a dive? Before going all DIN, I used to use the exact same setup and had no problems with banging my head. I still use it when traveling without my own tanks.

What do you eat before a dive?

Breakfast before a morning dive. Lunch before an afternoon dive. Supper before a night dive. Ain't no use missin' a meal.

Hi O2 mix 1st stage and equipment

My understanding on this is: You can take a reg that has been prepared for O2 service and use it with air or any other nitrox mixture, and it will retain it's O2 service rating IF it is used with O2 compatible air. It's the same principle as partial pressure blending; o2 is put into an o2...

    Mine LaMotte info

I was there last week. Water temp was 49*. Vis was 5-30. The 5' was near the entrance; it cleared up pretty nice after a couple hundred feet. Interesting dive.

Cave Condition @ peacock springs Jan 06

I just got back from a 4 day trip. Peacock is good. I'm not a good judge a putting a number on the vis, but I'd say 40'. Very little flow. Go dive.

    Where to purchase cheap tanks??

E-Bay. You can find AL80's for about half retail. Stay away from Luxfers older than '89, get one with current visual and hydro; you'll be good to go and saved $75.

Can you manifold luxfer and catalina tanks?

I asked this same question on the DecoStop board before I put mine together. The answers I got over there indicated there shouldn't be any problems. They were correct; there hasn't been any problems. My tanks are both shot blast and make a pretty good looking set of doubles...

Can you manifold luxfer and catalina tanks?

I've got a set doubled up with absolutely no problems. There was a VERY slight difference in the height of the tanks but no where near .7". They sit flat on a flat surface. Excuse my ignorance, what is Rule #6??

    Missouri Cave Diving

I was there Monday; cave was 58*, lake was 48*. We usually wear gloves with about half the index finger and thumb cut out; fingers get pretty cold out in the lake.

    Missouri Cave Diving

I've seen that statement written a few places. Not that it matters, but, WRONG, I found it all by myself on the first try. Just takes some good maps, a bit of research, and maybe a little luck. Nice report, I enjoyed the read.

    c-card expiration dates

Don't we have enough regulation for $$$$, no way do we need c-card expiration.

    E-Bay

This is the key to buying on E-bay, you have to be a savvy buyer. 1)Know what you want 2)know how much you're willing to pay 3) be willing to wait till you get a good deal. There is a lot of brand new gear being sold on E-bay. Some of this gear is coming from dive shops at a lower price...

    mares/dacor trade in program

Trick me once, shame on you; trick me twice, shame on me. I ain't buying their stuff, ever. Besides, $300 plus trade for a new reg, is that a good deal? You can buy Apeks all day long for $300 and not worry about a trade. Plus, twenty years from now you'll still be using your Apeks while...
