The normal method is to use a plastic buckle to hold it in place.
Slide on the can light, then slide on the buckle ( backwards, hinge towards light) and clamp it.

Can you expand on your reasoning here? In my mind a long hose donate would have made it trivial for the group to have continued their ascent along the line side by side just as they were doing prior to the OOA. None of this facing each other or climbing over each other to donate.
Was still a CF though.. The air-2 wasn't long enough to donate. The air-2 started free-flowing. He was left at some stages with no-one donating. The second diver "lost" their octo and never attempted to locate it while buddy breathing...
It would be stressful to go OOA on a line in that kind of...
It depends on your gear setup and hose length. Many of us run the octo on a 22-24" short-hose that's then attached via a necklace, so its just under your chin. That routes over your shoulder. You then donate your primary which is on a 5ft or longer hose.
For rental style BCD and octo setups...
Thanks for the thread. I have some of their hoses that fall into the recall, but haven't got an email yet.
Seeing as I live in 'straya i guess it might be worth order some more toys...
I love my can light, I never dive without it, even in the tropics. Still useful for looking under things and more importantly, as a signalling device.
So the third option is to get a cheap second hand can light.
I believe it just takes it from the computer, in which case the "safety stop" in rec mode may be reported as the deco ceiling. Is your Teric set to a 10ft safety stop? (I think it's called last stop)
Super unlikely there's any damage from that pressure load. They're probably just a little cranky. Over the counter anti histamine or anti inflammatory drugs may help.
Firstly, equalise early, equalise often! Particularly for a new divers it's critical that you equalise in that first metre.
My second piece of advice would be try to get to a doctor who will syringe your ears. Personally I sometimes suffer from ear-wax buildup after the first dive if I haven't...
Yes I was there that day and there were virtually no swimmers in the water but the sign had zero affect on the divers.
Now, while I think closing the beach was a complete and total over-reaction, I'm not sure it was a good idea to still take the OW students diving. Surely novice divers have...
I agree with parts of this. Note: I'm not a solo diver. But if I'm diving with an insta buddy, I assume that I may have to help them, but they will not be able to help me. If I'm diving with my wife or another gue diver then I consider that we are team diving and the buddy system will be my backup.
I can't imagine what the charter and work-up costs but i'd rather spend the money on a plane-flight and a week of diving this little beauty.
Warm water, shore entry, starts at 60ft and goes to over 200. Lots of deep dark places to explore but also nice easy sunlight holds to start with.
But...
I saw this on the FB "Scuba accident" group. I can't seem to see it mentioned here. maybe I just need to work on my searching skills :-)

The GUE community is fairly small but well established down here. Fundies in particular seems to be well advertised by most scuba shops, even 5 years ago you had to hunt down your own instructor.
All the GUE divers I've dived with have been really nice people, very down to earth and definitely...
