Try searching for Fundies rather than Fundamentals. There's plenty of reports.
Really though.. i doubt much has changed in the last 5 years, the course material certainly hasn't. People used to write reports all the time as it wasn't as well known and there was a strong anti DIR movement in...
We've got a small production facility in Darwin (I think). But i was pretty sure 100% of it's production was contracted to the Chinese.. maybe they've scaled back on their purchase contract. A real shame we throw most of our Helium away.
No offense but I think you're chasing the impossible. AL australia do not do parts for life, and the program is not going to save you any money anyway. The P4L program and warranty require annual servicing. You'll end up spending more on "keeping it in the program" than you would if you took a...
I have to ask.. why the aching arms from the O2 course? I don't remember any vigorous activity in my TDI O2 service tech course. Lots of hot water, simple green, blue lights, and valve rebuilding. But nothing vigorous
IMHO the diving in Sydney is definitely worth it. Most of the GBR is over-rated, there is some fantastic diving but also a lot of dead sites.
This was posted this week. This is a shore dive near where you are staying in Freshie
You can also join this FB group and check out the photos of many...
Pretty sure this thread is triggered by a photo doing the rounds on Facebook. Two Filipino guides are diving with two uncertified divers. The clients have no fins, and the guides are breathing from the octo while they hover above and hold the clients.
It breaks so many standards but FB seems to...
More gas. Less weight needed.
You say you're a big guy - do you find you are running out of air before your buddies do?
You should also be able to lose some ballast with the heavier tank, if you are diving with the same weights try ditching some as you are probably over-weighted.
You sure? AFAIK the parts for life doesn't exist in Australia anymore for AL.
Aussie Warranty - JettyDive
Besides, you had to service it every 12 months, which unless you dive a LOT is excessive. You might save a couple of bucks on parts but the service cost means you end up paying more anyway.
As far as I can tell, the business model of most LDS in this country is to pump as many new OW students through as they can, and make money selling them "starter" packages. One shop I know insists all new students buy a $150+ mask and $200 fins from him in order to be allowed to take the cut...
We walked out of the Coz hospital with a $0 bill thanks to DAN insurance. From memory the bill would have been something like $5k USD and that was for an overnight on oxygen and no chamber ride.
That's more than we've spent on DAN insurance in a decade. The couple of hundred a year in insurance...
Well I keep mine in a thigh pocket, i don't clip it off to store it. Obviously you have it rigged in some way that means that the clip is being opened.
Can you describe better or take a photo of how you had it rigged? Is the spool over-wound with too much line possibly? Which way did you have...
I think all the shops will transport you. Where are you staying? If you're staying in the city, you could catch the ferry over to Manly, hook up with Dive Centre Manly (they're a short stroll from the ferry) and get a lift to the site. The wife could hang out one of the cafe's or do a hike up...
Replacement hoses seem to be thinner, more flexible, and with higher quality fittings. If danicorp has gone out of business, this must be costing someone a tidy penny.
Dunno which is smallest, but Halcyon and Oxycheq make small backplates
OxyCheq - OxyCheq Stainless Steel Backplate *Small*
Backplate - Halcyon Dive Systems
DSS used to as well before they shut down.
How short is the person? a custom plate isn't the hardest thing in the world to have made.
I...
As always I point people to one of our members web pages -> Michael McFadyen's Scuba Diving Web Site
You can spend hours looking at the dive site information on that site.
For me I believe Sydney and the NSW coast has the most accessible shore and short-boat-trip diving. There's sites...
